Hi friends. Big, beautiful 25-45 lb. yellowfin with a few handfuls of those beastly bluefin is what was on our plate today. We had a couple of good drifts in fantastic weather that made our day just dandy. Everybody is really amazed by this quality grade of yellowfin and I'm personally amazed that crewmember Mark doesn't have his own television show. Networks are missing out on what a goldmine following Mark around with a camera would be, 24/7. Some people might think that they're paying a healthy sum of money to come out fishing on a long range boat but I look at it like, people are paying a lot of money to come spend a few days with Mark Clark.

Anyhow, here is a short recap of our day: good morning (0545 hours), good breakfast (French toast, sausage, and eggs), good trolling rotations, good fishing, good weather, good sunshine, good lunch (chili), good fishing, good afternoon snacks, good galley assistant/chef-in-training (Shawn), good friends, good times, good dinner (roasted turkey with all the goods), good showers, good squid making, good night. It's alllllllllllll good. We allllllll bundle.We'll chat with you tomorrow.

Now this was the real deal today. Nothing short of epic cow fishing. Scott released a 110 lb., 170 lb. 180 lb., another 110 lb., 175 lb., and a 150 lb. tuna. He kept a 220 lb., and a 250 lb. tuna. Bob released a 180 lb., 130 lb., 190 lb., and kept a 220 pounder. Al released a 190 lb., 125 lb., 185 lb., and a 140 pounder. Craig released a 135 lb., 150 lb., 145 lb., 180 lb., 190 lb., another 180 lb., and kept a 190 lb., and a 193 pounder. Roger released a 110 lb., and kept a 204 pounder. Sheridan released a 125 lb., 170 lb., 150 lb., 160 lb., and 190 pounder. Tom released a 110 lb., 160 lb., 150 lb., 185 lb., and kept a 221 lb., and a 205 lb. tuna. George released a 120 lb., 130 lb., 100 lb., 185 lb., 180 lb., and another 100 lb., and kept a 205 pounder. Wow what a day. We're all just shaking our heads at how wild it was. Lunch was calamari with a red sauce and dinner was veal chops. We'll see you tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 10-24-2019 We had another log jam today on the kelp patties. Another great day of fishing Wahoo and what a beautiful grade of fish! Some real beauties in their. They look more like alligators than Wahoo. They definitely act like alligators when you hook one. We also had a good hit on the yellowfin tuna again this afternoon. The grade of fish was more like 20 to 45 it wasn't all 45 pounders. But still a good grade of fish! Were finished up in the lower zone here and need to start working north. Stayed late today so we will probably only have a few hours of fishing tomorrow if any looking for some yellowtail up the coast. Weather is still epic. We also spent about a half hour today catching and releasing beautiful grade Dorado. We didn't keep any! Will check in with you tomorrow on our way home after a short try for yellowtail. Here’s the report and photos from Tuesday’s 2 Day trip: 41 Bluefin -28 from 60-90lbs -5 right at 100 -8 from 115-190 lbs 25 Yellowfin 20 from 25-40lbs 5 from 40-100lbs **Long drift all day. This big grade is biting the fin bait well. Bring your heavy tackle 60,80,100,130. The weather is improving so we posted a 1.5 Day trip for Thursday. Starting to see some schools of this grade bluefin in our travels again. Make sure you bring a 40lb rod to go along with your 20 lb rod. Might be a good idea to bring some 4oz torpedos and rubber bands also. This 40 pound rod can also serve as a flyline rod if we get on a good biting school of yellowfin.

Aug 13

Once again we weren't holding the lucky horse shoe in the tuna grounds today. We saw some fish in the morning but not a lot. Around lunch time up until after 6 we saw several schools that for us, wouldn't stick with the boat. Some of the boats found some that stuck which for a boat that didn't can be quite frustrating. We're going to stick it out here for our last day tomorrow. We have plenty of time tomorrow to locate biting fish and that's what we'll do. The weather was good today. A little windy late but the forecast for tomorrow looks great.

July 10
 Alright everyone.  As I promised, July 10th has come and we are now out for the summer/fall so be prepared for a wonderful trip report like I have always brought, every night now.  After finishing a few things boat work style, and saying goodbye to the friends and family, we were ready to get out here for the long haul and that's just what we're doing.
 
 We showed up bright and early, put on some gas, loaded the herms(passengers) and left for the bait receivers.  We cant complain about the bait.  A bit on the larger side so we don't get as many but it's nice and healthy so we know they won't die and we'll catch fish with them.  Reports sound pretty good for the most part. Pretty good local action for the tunas with some better grade yellows showing up under the kelps.  The medium range yellowfin schools disappeared in the last few days but we know they'll show up somewhere soon.  You can still at least make a day of it yellowtailing  at the islands, and the ridge and rocks produce steady numbers of tuna, tail, and wahoo.  Speaking of wahoo, our 9 day in September has room.  Don't miss the trip of a lifetime.  Light load, lots of fish.  Come on, come on, come on.  Don't make me beg here.

 Anyways we're going to start out fishing offshore tomorrow and I don't know why I say start out because we'll be doing it all day.  We'll be hunting tuna and tails.  Pretty good reports in the zone we'll be rolling through the last couple days and we'd like to get in on that.  Tails and tuna baby, tails and tuna.

 On a sad note, we don't have one of our soldiers out with us this trip and we're not sure how long we'll be missing him at the moment.  Our dog Tommie "Gunny" Miles had some health issues he needed to handle.  I'm not going to go into the details but he's doing better and we hope to have him back as soon as possible.  Health comes first though.  I'm sure he's reading so maybe shoot him out a little "get better Guns" on FB.  We love you bud.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-3-2012 Report

 

The last travel day of the trip. Yes we get in tomorrow morning at 8 am. The boat will have one night in and then we're off with the O.T.R. group on a 10 day trip. Last night we stopped and played a game called flying fish. Myself, Matty and Mark got down. I live for competition. Your parents always teach you it doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you tried your best. That's a bunch of crap. Winning is everything. I scored 18 points with 1 assist taking the trophy. Yup Lon, we got you some flyers for the kite. Today's just like the rest of travel days. There's a movie going, people hanging out outside in this nice weather and some zzz's going down as well. Jeremy's vacation is over today. He just got cell phone reception so income the texts so he's staying busy.
