Trip update 08.09.2015

 Good afternoon folks. Today was pretty slow today, fishing wise. We certainly covered a lot of ground today looking for that boomer kelp and just couldn't find the cherry patty. Not too long after the crack of dawn we were dragging jigs and had the crew up top looking hard. There was no shortage of stuff to stop on, there just wasn't that one holding in our zone today. Such is offshore fishing. Fish being who they are, the really hold you to being in the right place at the right time. Never the less, today still put us in position for a couple days of yellowtail fishing with another great chance of putting some tags on some nicer grade yellowfin too. I have to say though, you couldn't have asked for better weather out on the water today. For most of the day whether you were going up swell, down swell or in the trough, you really couldn't which was which. Gorgeous conditions out here for the passengers on a boat ride or the crew up top looking for fish. We'll take that for the rest of the trip!
 Chef Mike and kicked out an awesome lunch today making his homemade crab bisque served with a chicken ceasar and garlic bread. The only bad part is he didn't make more of it. I know I had at least 3 bowls of it myself. It seemed to be a crowd favorite.  We ended the day with a nice Thanksgiving style turkey dinner topped with a mushroom gravy and stuffing on the side.
 So tomorrow we're gonna be "chasin some tails". Looking to get into some quality yellows, maybe some nicer yellowfin and who knows what else we might come across. Check back in tomorrow evening.

Today was a fun day. The weather is good now but it was crappy yesterday. At first we were getting yellowtail, which the guys released and then we got into some of those nicer grade yellowfin. Up to 60 lbs. or so. The sharks are nauseating. For lunch we had fresh yellowtail in an Italian, caper, Kalamata olive mixture with fresh tomatoes. Dinner was veal Melanesia. Both were yummy. The guys are having a good time. Not much wahoo yet. But we will see what tomorrow brings. Wish us luck! Thanks for tuning in.

 So we did it again.  We had a nice day.  Arrive/depart day.  Once again, we got out here at a good time and connected on a couple of schools.  We ended our day with 81 tuna.  And they're still that good grade.  25 pound average.  So nice.  Free ones.  Departure fish.  I told everyone to bring there horse shoes and rabbits feet.  I think they did.

 The bait thing went better than expected.  It wasn't Armageddon like I thought it may be.  We used 1/2 the bait I thought would croak and the rest hasn't had any die off yet.  Now we just need our main slammer of bait to hang in there.  The only thing is we didn't get a full load of bait so we may need to catch some down the line.  At least I hope that's the only thing.  Time will tell Joe.  Time will tell.

 We're going to drift here tonight.  It literally feels like we're anchored in the bay right now.  It's so nice.  We'll start here in the morning and try to do it again.  Let's keep the ball rolling.
       

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-10-2019 Again we had another great weather day. Fishing was slower with just a little bit of quality. We got some nice grouper and Wahoo for the day. Spent a lot of time looking for a kelp with Dorado to no avail. Looks like we're going to have to make a move for tomorrow! The Polaris supreme crew!

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-21-2016 For anyone that wants to go out and fish the local tuna outside San Diego that has been biting consistently we have a day and a half trip leaving on Sunday at 6 PM fishing Monday and coming back Tuesday morning at 6 AM. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, a good broken record, we had another great day of Wahoo fishing! It didn't stop there from dark on we had a great nighttime bite on Quality yellowtail, absolutely a beautiful grade. Talk about burning the candle at both ends of the stick! You guys leaving on the Ahi charter on the 22nd make sure you have plenty of the medium-size marauders in your tackle box. Not every day but some days the sharks are really really bad eating marauders and the Wahoo on the marauders. Anybody wanting to get in on some of the best action I've ever seen on these eight and 10 day trips we have openings on our limited load 10 day trip on November 22. Just returned from our Beck, Wagstaff, Emerson charter. 

A 7 day trip filled with a great variety! From Yellowtail, Wahoo, Tuna and even Grouper mixed in!

Yesterday we had 54 California Yellowtail, 47 California Barracuda, 6 Kelp Bass, 3 California Sheephead, 35 Rockfish and 1 Lingcod.The fishing has been very good at the Coronado Islands! Sept. 25

Good evening and thank you for reading the Polaris Supreme. If your reading for the boats e.t.a., the boat will be at fisherman's landing at 6 a.m. In fishing news, we had a good day. 160 mixed fish is what we tagged today. Yft, bft, yt, and dorados. In Latin spelled for the most part incorrectly because this is off the top of my head it goes Thunas Albacares, Thunas Thynis, Sariola Dorsalis and Coryphahene Hipperus. The weather was great. The only bad thing was our bait. I'm sure we missed out on a lot more tuna due to the lack of live bait in the water. The yellows and dorado didn't seem to care so much but we saw a lot more tuna in the water then what we caught which was 66. Myself and the fleet is ready for this bait nausea do be over with but until then, we just have to deal with it. So if your coming on a future 1 1/2 day, make sure you bring some jigs. Swim baits and mega baits work well on the slide and the yo-yo iron works good while we drift.
