Very little signs of Albacore and Blue fin. Beautiful weather and good water. The albacore that were caught by the fleet for the day were very small, 7-11 lbs. And there was very few blue fin with them. Heading to yellowtail grounds tomorrow. Tommy and crew

July 23 Friday After spending all day yesterday searching and not catching our 35 albacore we caught this morning seamed like a bonanza. They shut off at 11:00 and that was that. With the Albacore hit we got on the way down and one of those days fishing Yellowtail one can only dream of, our over all fishing was great. many thanks to our charter head Paul and his great crew of anglers. But he also dose a better job scrubbing and Drew wasn't letting him get out of it. Tommy. July 22nd, 2010 Hello to all. Today we decided to look around at some new territory for the elusive albacore. I'm going to cut right to the chase, fishing was great and catching was terrible. We did see an area of birds/whales that looked promising but we never saw a tuna and that was the highlight of our day. Maybe in time this area will be productive but for now, we know where not to go. The weather is still picture-perfect and our anglers are all in good spirits. We are currently moving up the line to put ourselves in position for a full day of albacore/bluefin fishing for our final day. We'll check back in tomorrow and keep you posted on our day. Richie and Crew. July 21st, 2010 Wow, what a day we had aboard the Polaris Supreme. We arrived at our destination first thing in the morning to find calm seas and a slight overcast. After some scanning around, we located a nice school and within a few minutes we were bent over with yellowtail. It wasn't wide open by any means but it was a very enjoyable pace for our fine group of folks. Around lunch time, we went through a little lull and took full advantage of a chance to rest sore arms, enjoy a glass of water, and get out of the sun for a bit. Oh yeah, the weather was gorgeous. Flat calm with sunshine. The SPF 50 was flowing for sure. Anyhow, after a little break, it was time to go to work again. This go-around, the yellows gave off a much more ferocious vibe and we enjoyed excellent fishing to round out our day. The show of yellowtail was very impressive to say the least. Not many times when we would look into the water and not see free swimming yellowtail everywhere. In closing, we had a very fun day of fishing and we will be sleeping easy tonight. Our plan is to take a look in some different areas for tomorrow and to hopefully round out our beautiful catch of yellowtail with some tuna fish. Thanks for checking in and wish us luck. Richie and crew. July 20th, Good evening everyone, We finally wet our lines first thing this morning and it didn't take us long to get the blood flowing with some Albacore jig strikes. After some short stops for a handful of fish, we found what we we're looking for. We enjoyed a couple of very good stops that kept us busy for the morning. We also threw on a few Bluefin tuna to round out our morning. After lunch, things kind of died down and we decided to head on a southerly course to do some Yellowtail fishing. The cherry on today's sundae was the absolutely beautiful weather. Flat calm, a light breeze, and a nice cloud cover to keep us from getting too toasty. Well thanks for checking up on us. We'll be at the Yellowtail grounds first thing in the morning. Take care. Richie and crew. July 19th, Hi friends, Today we departed on our annual Paul Hess 5 day with 23 of his closest friends. After clearing Point Loma with a beautiful load of bait and an eager group of anglers, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and rigged up tackle. After our tackle seminar, Sandra and Dave Lafferty went to work in the galley preparing a meal fit for kings and queens. Appetizers, clam chowder and Caesar salad. Main course, Fresh salmon and crab cakes with a hollandaise sauce with gourmet macaroni and cheese, asparagus and corn. To top off the meal, we enjoyed homemade cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. To sum it up, it was excellent. The service was top notch as well. Paul and Kyle served it up and Matt kept those dishes sparkling clean. The whole dinner was a thank you from Paul and friends for 10 years of the fine service he's been treated to onboard the Polaris Supreme. From all of us, thank you to Paul and the gang. Anyhow, reports from the tuna grounds sound encouraging so we will find ourselves in the zone tomorrow morning. Thanks for checking in and we'll keep you updated on what we do. Wish us luck. 47 yellowtail 29 bonito 6 calico bass. A couple of good shots today. Surface iron fishing is a technique that should be attempted once you are completely comfortable with your gear. I believe that you will enjoy fishing a lot more if you become very good at bait fishing first. Flylined sardines were the most productive today.

Good Morning Everyone. We had a great mixed bag fishing today. We caught some great grade Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna, and trophy Grouper. We managed to land one Wahoo as well. Lot of fish around today, just a lack of current to activate them. Hopefully we have some current tomorrow. Will Report then, Team Supreme

Sunday June 22 - Excellent, excellent yellowtail fishing again today. No signs of any black sea bass. We are enjoying absolutely fantastic weather. And everyone is having a great time. Thanks, Tommy and crew

Hi friends. Well, our move paid off to go kelping out in right field. We hit a few kelps throughout the day and after weeding through the shaker yellowtail, we were rewarded with some quality yellowtail and dorado currently chilling in the RSW. The gang had themselves a real ball and we're hoping with the good weather forecasted, we'll be able to get on a few schools of tuna tomorrow and finish up the Joe Beck/Bob Vance trip with a bang. We're traveling up the line to hopefully drift up some squid later on tonight. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.

Today we tried our hand at Wahoo fishing once again. It was not the red hot bite like yesterday but it was still good numbers and unmatched quality of fish. Many 40-60 lb fish. We have to start heading up now. We may have some time to fish Yellowtail tomorrow on our way up. Here we have some victorious anglers after another great hit on Wahoo! Also Andrew with an absolute monster!

Hi friends. Fishing today was just beautiful today on 16-22 lb. yellowtail down here. We had a few of those "premiums" in the mix and a few shakers but for the most part, it was a really nice grade of 'tail. Our key to success today was finding--as Tommy puts it--fresh balls [of yellowtail]. Classic run 'n gun fishing for the morning as the guys on jigs and fly-lined sardines were getting their fill but once our drift was established, the dropper loop guys got in on the action too. Anyways, it was a good morning bite in the "drift zone" but a little after lunch, things shut off and we toured around trying to find another ball without much success. Speaking of lunch, chartermaster Joe Gigliotti did it again. He owns the pizza game and made a really awesome lunch for the guys. Sausage, pepperoni, olives, barbecued chicken, chicken and pesto, and smoked fish, capers, and onions were being devoured by the gang. Joe rocks. I only had a couple bites of each because my nutritionist, Chef Shawn, didn't think I needed the extra carbs and fat. I had salad and a banana. Eyes on the prize, baby. Anywho, it was definitely a morning thing and we'll be here for one more morning to see if we can't connect on some more fresh balls [of yellowtail] and let the weather fade out before we boogie out of here to get in some offshore tuna and dorado action. Oh yeah, we need to make some bait too.

As I type this, the time is 0245 hours in the morning and it's starting to rain, Gunny is all slicked up downstairs braving the elements, and I'm up here in the cozy wheelhouse contemplating typing a report for another hour and fifteen minutes until we have to wake up Tommy and Mark. Nah, I can't do Gunny like that. Anyhow, bait-making isn't all that great as Gunny has made a couple pieces and a couple of flying fish for next trip and I've made one lizard fish. Pumped.

Speaking of pumped, the gym here on the Polaris Supreme is overloaded with muscle right now. Last night before dinner, Tommy was in the wheelhouse gettin' his leg and core workouts in while I was out back in the "gun zone" getting my diesel on with some upper body workouts. Tommy was rockin' out a few sets of crunches, squats, and toe raises, I was in the gun zone jackin' out sets of chin-ups, tricep dips, push-ups, and leg lifts. It was on. So my fellow pump brother, Riddler the Ripped One, and I were getting all swollen and admiring each others work, and here's Gunny taking a shower. He doesn't have a membership to the gym yet but we'll find a way to get him one, don't you worry, Tommie. If you're nickname is "Gunny", you'd better be shredded to the max and not applying cocoa butter moisturizer when Riddles and I are getting wrenched. I'm proud of you, Riddler, I'll be your spotter anytime. If only we could get him bronzing...

Staying with the last topic, Drew and I took what might be the best photo ever this evening. A rainbow showed itself in the distance and what a beautiful rainbow it was. Instinctively, Drew leaped into my arms and I held him like a baby lamb in my toned arms and Mark snapped a photo of the exchange. The picture is just fabulous, Drew being held up by "Richie Gun Racks", his smile ear-to-ear, and a beautiful rainbow in the background. Just lovely.

So that's all. Life on the Supreme is grand right now and I've got to go and make some bait. Like I said, we'll be here tomorrow trying for some more 'tails. Hopefully, the action is a real fat burner and we're just going crazy all day. We'll see. Okay, I gotta go. Bait, bait, bait!
