Captain Ryan Bostian of The San Diego checked in. Had steady gamefish action all day long. We caught 107 Yellowtail and 98 Bonita!

The first two day trip departs Thursday 9/13 at 9 p.m. fishing Friday 9/14 and Sat. 9/15. This trip is limited to 18 passengers. Cost is $650 per angler and includes food and permits.  Holy moly was it hot and humid today.  Starting today early the sweat was on.  My mom brought the little one down and the poor little girl was sweating worse than me.  She probably doesn't care though.    We left on our annual Bogart 2 day trip.  So we fished a little this afternoon and we'll fish tomorrow.  We got a couple tanks of anchovy today with just a few sardine mixed in.  We have a bit of mackerel left over that we'll use.  We fished for yellows this afternoon.  We reached the honey hole at 4:00.  Of course conditions did a complete 180.  Current wise.  The water was still blue and warm but the current was opposite to what the yellers have enjoyed here as of late.  So we saw no sign of yellowtail.  After a couple anchor jobs we gave up on them and anchored in tight to the kelp and we caught some assorted rockfish and bass and such.  Now we're headed out to who knows where.  I have a couple places in mind.  I'm going to wait and here the evening reports from the other boats before deciding.

 There is a few things as of late I wanted to tell y'all about that I forgot to.  I finally saw the green flash!  Kind of cool I guess.  I wasn't looking for it this time.  Maybe that's the ticket.  I just happened to look over and poof, the sun turned green for a flash.  The lightening show the other night was amazing.  Especially the part I missed while I was in bed sleeping.  And we saw a wave cloud I think.  I think it was a wave cloud.  It looked like a wave rolling through.  Or a side ways tornado.  There was 0 wind, and all the sudden that thing came through and it got super windy but just for 30 seconds or less and then it was gone and the wind went back to 0.  Pretty cool I thought.  Done.
     

Good morning everyone, We got a great early start on our Simpatico five day trip. Our intentions were to have an opportunity to catch some of these larger local Bluefin Tuna. However the action slowed and it did not pencil out as we hoped. There is some pretty bad weather rolling up today and is supposed to be here tomorrow. We are probably going to try some inshore fishing somewhere tomorrow to stay clear of the weather and pull on some fish at the same time. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Nov. 11

                Not a very good day for us today.  I wish I could call it a travel day too but we did a lot of fishing, just not catching.  Well, we did need to travel for 4 hours of the day to put us in position for tomorrow, so maybe I can call it a travel day.  Anyways, the weather today was pretty crappy when I first woke up and not much better when we arrived to our first fishing destination of the day at 7:00 AM.  That could be why the wahoo weren't there and biting.  But after 3 hours there, the weather was nice.  The wind backed off and the ocean flattened out.  Unfortunately 12 miles below there the current did a 180 and the wind picked up a little and things got jacked up.  The swell and chop were coming from every which way and we couldn't pick a smooth course.  We got our roll on for most the rest of the day.  Spot #2 looked like we could've caught a bunch of nice yellers but the skip jack wouldn't let us have any of it.  They were hitting everything we threw in.  That's alright though.  We needed the chunk for tomorrow.  We did get a few nice yellows though.

 

                After that we had a delicious cheeseburger and some took a nap during our 20 mile move.  I had high hopes for this place but it was not to be so we threw in the towel a bit before dark to make sure we give ourselves plenty of time to get to our next destination.  We'll be hunting for cows tomorrow.  We need a little luck and by that I mean good timing.  The fish need to be on the bank tomorrow for us because above here didn't seem like the answer for the last couple of days. 

 

                Mama Bear: Though we only caught a few wahoo today, your little rascal caught one of them.  His first wahoo.  I guess the ritual for that is a deck hose soaking?  I never heard of that but he got a drenching after that one.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 33 passengers catch 165 Yellowtail (10 to 25 pounds), 4 Dorado and 19 Bonito. Please come prepared with an assortment of bait rods 20 to 50 pounds. Today we had a very memorable stop!

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-08-2016 Good evening Supreme fans. We departed nice and early this morning on Brad Bogart's 6th Annual 2 day Tuna Charter. The crew worked double time to get the boat untied sooner than normal to get Brad and company out on the water and fishing ASAP and we did. We left the dock with a fairly set game plan and within a couple hours that all totally changed. Just shows you how things can change at the drop of a hat. On our way out to our intended destination, we happened to stumble upon a school of a really nice grade of yellowfin tuna that wanted to chew good. It was change of pace fishing and catching this 30 lb. grade of tuna that we haven't seen in some time. It's a bonus when you get to change your plans for the better. We spent the rest of the afternoon on these very manageable schools until it was dinner time. Tomorrow should fair out the same way with hopes of this fish sticking around and making a day of it. The guys went to bed after a nice prime rib dinner and a few less fish tags on their belts ready to get back at it in the morning. Check in tomorrow to see how we ended up. I can't close this report out without giving a huge thank you to Vernon "Paddy" Burke and his Simpitico crew for an epic 5 day trip. These guys hung in there with 5 days of trophy style bluefin fishing and we know they are taking home some sore arms and backs to the great state of Texas. They say everything is bigger in Texas, well not your bluefin tuna boys! We're already looking forward to seeing them back next year for another week out on the water. Just returned from guadelupe and had full limits of yellowfin tuna to 90# along with some absolutely beautiful guadelupe grade yellowtail from 35 to 44 #s. With good weather to boot.
