Captain Ryan Bostian called in with the Coronado Island reports. Today we went out with 36 passengers 43 Yellowtail. There are two bodies of fish out at the islands. There is a school of 23 to 30 pounders and another school of 11 to 17 pounders. The fish are biting the fly-lined sardines and mackerel. And for those who like fishing iron the surface iron is working too. The San Diego departs daily from Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay. Hi friends. It's hot down here -- wicked hot. The bronzing was epic today. Charlie Middleton and Drew even got in on the action. Just kidding, but we did as if they would like to participate in a session with us but they respectfully declined. Bottom line, the weather was excellent today but we could've used about five more knots of wind not only for some circulation but to carry the kite out as well. Anyhow, our fishing was a little on the slow side but it was to be expected with the south swell that rolled through here and threw things off a bit. We trolled up some wahoo today and managed to land a few fish on various artificials and a few on live bait as well. The sign of tuna here wasn't anything to write home about this morning but in the afternoon, we rolled up to a spot of jumpers, kicked the anchor over, and proceeded to hook and land a few in the 40-80 lb. range. We did have our shark casualties today as well but we're hopeful that if we can get a few more fish hooked, we'll keep the sharks spread out and land a few more. We'll see.

Anyways, our plan is to stay here tomorrow and see what the morning brings and we'll base our next decision to stay or go off of that. Wish us luck. Good night.

Nice yellow Pablo! Made a little bit of squid and things were looking pretty fishy. Got one fish and saw some more. Game fish scene is straightening out.

Aug. 30

Not to much to report from the Polaris Supreme today. We did a tiny bit of fishing this morning. We were seeing little dabs of yellowfin where we were and the boats below us were seeing the same thing. Just a little bit of fish scattered around and stops for not much so we wound in the jigs and put the blinders up and traveled down the rest of the day. We did our wahoo seminar mid morning and after that it was a leisure day. Some slept, some made wire leaders and some just kicked back and enjoyed the lovely weather. Man oh man was it nice out today. Flat calm seas, super light breeze and warm. August must be coming to an end and we welcome that. What a cold windy month for us out here. Our speed has been poor and it's looking like we won't be arriving to our destination until after lunch.

30 pass. 12 yellowtail 4 yellowfin tuna 2 dorado. Decent yellowfin sign but they were difficult to hook. Light line and small hook was the best chance. We also managed 2 dorado. Can’t say I have ever seen dorado in 66 degree water but nothing is normal anymore.

23 pass private charter. 13 bluefin tuna 26 yellowtail. Stopped on many schools of both bluefin and yellowtail. Picked away on 25 lb flyline and surface iron
