Happy Easter! I have decided to put some ultra limited load open party trips together for fishing the northern Channel Islands this weekend. I have set up two trips on Saturday and Sunday the 10th and 11th of April. I anticipate trying to find sea bass in the morning and falling back on rock fish and ling cod for the rest of the day. These trips will be limited to only 20 people max!! This just seems to me to be such a great opportunity to get out to the islands on such a nice boat without having to deal with a crowd. The trips will depart from Sea Landing in Santa Barbara at 9pm Friday and Saturday night. The cost will be $175 per person. Please come join me and the crew aboard the Apollo next weekend. Reed checked in from the Fred Hall Show down in San Diego and just heard from Capt Ryan Bostain aboard the San Diego 3/4 day boat. The have limits of Yellowtail for their 20 anglers from 16 to 22 lbs, they were biting everything today. When you come out with us make sure you have your passport or passport card, cost is $145 per person. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 06-28-2016 A beautiful Tuesday we are having! Four yellowtail average per passenger and great weather. We are busy and that's all we have time for tonight Brendan just landed a 30 plus Yellow and its 9:00. Sea Ya Tomorrow. Polaris Supreme Crew!

Just returned from guadelupe and had full limits of yellowfin tuna to 90# along with some absolutely beautiful guadelupe grade yellowtail from 35 to 44 #s. With good weather to boot. A good trime was had by all. We have a spot open on a 5 day leaving on Nov 07 Returning on the 12th. 12 people $ 1500. Please call the landing at 619 221 8500.

Bluefin Tuna! The Apollo will hit the dock around 6 PM tonight. They scored 16 Bluefin Tuna and 6 Yellowtail. That is the best score on the tuna this season. Call Fisherman's Landing now at (619) 221-8500 to book your spot.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-15-2013

 

 

The majestic blood-red sunset that we experienced at the end of our day today was simply magnificent. I'm not exaggerating. Allow me to set the stage. We've been struggling to find the fish that we've been looking for in sufficient quantities over the past few days, but we found EXACTLY what the doctor had ordered earlier in the afternoon. One of the crew perched in the crow's nest spotted some bird activity around a floating object in the distance. We trolled past the inflated "gas bag", and soon the entire boat erupted in mayhem. Virtually every bait to hit the water was quickly inhaled by the voracious dorado residing near the flotsam. Once we put the hurt on those good-size flatheads, the wahoo started to bite. We did well. Real well. Anyway, back to the sunset. Visualize a full moon rising in the east, casting glimmering silhouettes on the slight chop, as the sun is setting in the west, lighting up the entire field of vision with a crimson glow. It was simply magnificent. We fished until darkness interrupted us.

"Red sky at night ..." . so of course we're looking forward to another beautiful day out here tomorrow, weather-wise. The fishing is merely icing on the cake. Speaking of cake ... dinner tonight is a braised German chicken dish. Gotta go, I'm hungry!

Our PM Half Day saw excellent Calico Bass fishing, highlighted by a big Black Seabass trying to eat one of our hooked bass. We ended up spending just an hour and half on the anchor for over 30 bass released. We spent the rest of the trip looking for Yellowtail, but not finding the ideal conditions.
