Benn making the most of the situation and not dragging passengers offshore to catch nothing. So we have been fishing the Coranado Islands for all you want cod each day and heading offshore in the PM finding very little. Our larger boats went out today catching a handful of Yellowfin so that's a move in the right direction. Thanks!

Nov. 13

We finished up the trip today mostly concentrating on yellowtail. We kept the wire on in case we got into some wahoo and weren't going to steer away from tuna either. Well we did get a wahoo today. A nice fat one. 60 pounder? We'll see at the dock. We saw a few schools of tuna that wanted nothing to do with us and we saw a few foamers of good grade yellowtails. We got on top of one of those foamers and they flashed us for a second and then left us. We only caught a handfull before they were gone. We chased down a few other schools but they all sank out before we could get to them.

To recap the trip we caught all you want on big fat dorado, lots and lots of school grade yellowfin tuna and had a pretty good catch of wahoo throughout the trip. We spent two full days hunting the cow yellowfin and saw plenty each and all day but only have a couple trophies to show for our efforts. A lot of non biting fish but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes. We only had a couple days of choppy weather and other then that it's been beautiful. We're heading home right now with just a fantastic ride up the line.

The Apollo had another successful overnight trip up the coast. They had limits of rockfish. The weather is great and they will be fishing the island tomorrow.

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-23-2020 We departed today on Joe Becks annual 8 day trip.The weather is great and our bait stinks. lots of spinners. hopefully enough will cure out to make the trip. Not much to report the usual rigging eating and napping. The picture is of our new storage box an rod holders we built in the bow to replace the old bait tank. We will be traveling all day tomorrow. Hey guys, after two weeks of fishing for yellowtail in U.S. waters, we have now decided to head back down to the Coronado Islands. We have still been seeing plenty of yellows in the local waters but they just have not got with it like we wanted them to. Yellowtail have been spotted from the rockpile to Catalina island over the past week. I honestly feel that the Coronado Islands is going to be our best bet at finding some yellowtail that want to bite well. Our first trip to the islands is tomorrow, Friday 27th. Ryan Bostian called in with this report from the Coronado Islands, "Today we went out with 17 Anglers and we are coming back to the dock with 44 Yellowtail. These Yellowtail are nice sized fish, 15 to 30 pounders."

They are biting the fly lined the baits today. You want to bring down your fly lined gear, your yoyo gear all your Yellowtail gear including surface irons.

Capt Ryan Bostain from the San Diego 3/4 day trip called in with a trip report from todays trip. They decided to head west from the Coronado Islands in search of some offshore fish, with the report of the tuna racing up the coast. We started they day with a stop on some really nice grade Bonito from 5 to 10 pounds and left them biting after we had 55 on the deck. We some mixed schools of Yellowfin and Bluefin and ended the day with 20 Bluefin and 36 Yellowfin that were all between 10 and 35 pounds. We had mostly beginner anglers on the boat today, very few had ever fished offshore before. We will be heading back out there tomorrow and until they go away. You will need a 20 pound bait rods, today they we biting 20-40-50-60 and even 80 pound line. If you come out with us the perfect setup will be a live bait from 20-40 pound set up, some size 2 and 2/0 hooks for either the Anchovies or Sardines. Come on down and get in on the action.

Today we had fantastic fishing on 15- 25 lb Yellowtail. We were able to get on a couple really nice schools that made for some great action! Both the kids and the fathers did a great job putting the wood to these fish! There was definably a lot of sore arms when it was all said and done. Here we have Colt and Kingston with some nice Yellowtail. Hopefully they will be rested up for offshore tomorrow. We will be looking for Tuna and Dorado.
