mi. Fishing Report 2025

Hello Everyone, We had a great first day of fishing. Full of variety and excitement. Today we mainly caught school sized Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail. However there were some Nice Dorado and Grouper mixed in as well. There is a lot of skipjack and small tuna bi catch, but we are able to weed through it for the keeper fish. Tomorrow we will have our sights set on Wahoo and Tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Captain Mike Pritchard called in at 8:45 AM to give us an update from the Tribute. We have 65 Yellowfin Tuna (12 to 25 pounds) very nice grade fish. We have been having very good Yellowfin Tuna fishing the last couple of days.  Good morning.  It's morning time for me.  1:53 am.  I'm  writing about yesterday.  I'd call it good fishing.  Nothing crazy, just steady scratch fishing for most of the day.  Same old grade, 14-22 pounders.  Same basic grounds.  It was a lot more fun than that sounds though.  Come on, good fishing on a good grade of fish.  What more could we ask for?  Better weather? OK.  But sometimes you get wind.  When life gives you lemons...  Seriously though, we had a whole lot of wind today.  Here's the thing though.  The boat drifted great.  We may have had over 20 knots of wind, but the boat drifted like we had 10.  A little wind burn and some chapped lips is all.  As long as the fish bite and no one gets hurt.

 Good fishing or not, we decided to take a break from that wind this afternoon.  We made a little move where the wind gets blocked by The Island.  What a difference.  I compared it to sitting in a spa.  Just that, aaahhhhhhhhh feeling.  We even caught some fish.  There were some spots of YT's up and at dark we caught 4 grouper, a halibut and a tail on a drift.  Then we anchored up for Seabass and had dinner.  We haven't caught a Seabass yet but we're hoping at or just before daylight we get some.  One boat had some around these parts yesterday.

 So that's it.  We'll be here again tomorrow.  20 minutes left on my watch and I'll be going back to bed for a few more hours.  Stay classy everyone and thanks for stopping by.
       

Good evening friends, Today we fished the yellowtail area again for another couple of hours, with very similar results. Things started off slow first thing in the morning, but picked up a little later. Soon we were able to put a nice bunch of mossbacks on the boat before we had to take off mid day. We are currently in route to the yellowfin tuna grounds. Recently they have been biting very well. We should be in the grounds tomorrow morning sometime after breakfast. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

 I think I'm happy with today. Another dorado kelp sure would have been nice though. When I told the other boats we were fishing with what we caught today, they all said good going on your day so I guess I can't complain.

We started off at San Clemente Island yellowtail hunting. It was pretty darn slow first thing. We gave it a while staying patient but we could only take so much, so we explored. For nothing. By mid morning I was concerned I'd be giving the Jackpot money back. No cause for worry though. We went back to our morning spot and the handful of other boats that were chilling there bailed out so we tried it again. We stayed steady for a while catching yellers. Mostly smaller ones though but with a sprinkling of nice ones. It quit biting at lunch so we went looking for a dorado kelp. We found one. It had a great big ball of flats on it. Nice ones too. Some would call them !@#$ slappers. It could've hung around longer but we caught a couple per rod while they were around. We also caught a wahoo. Perhaps the first wahoo this boat has ever caught in American waters. I'm willing to bet good money on it.

And that was pretty much our day as far as catching goes. We fished more. We tried our yellowtail honey hole again but it didn't work out. I think we planned it out good though. We fished a lot. Not a whole lot of long periods of driving like you can get on straight offshore days. We'll be in tomorrow and I'm not sure when we're coming back out. That all depends on you. Whether or not you go 1.5 day fishing with us. Regardless we'll be back out Nov. 8 on a 10 day. Which by the way, you can still book on that son of a gun too.
 

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-30-2019 A few Wahoo a little bit of grouper drifting and of course lots of small yellowfin and skipjack. We never did connect today with a better grade yellowfin. And Wahoo fishing was slow. Same weather conditions going on we had rough weather all afternoon but by midnight it had calmed down nicely. Going to be doing a little yellowtail fishing on the coast tomorrow. Hopefully in some good weather! The Polaris supreme crew!

We have a Berkley sponsored open charter this Friday. This will be the first trip after Ling cod opens. There will be give away packs for everyone.
