Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-25-2019 We got off on a nice early start on Joe Becks annual eight day trip. We have 24 happy smiling anglers excited to get at it and throw some fish on board. The bait we picked up at the receivers to complement what we already have on board looks good (although small) . Our weather is great the wind we have is out of the south which is not normal but it's good going. Have you ever heard of the term it popped up overnight? It happens in the desert around Thanksgiving for the four wheeling off-road enthusiasts. You see it happen in the desert with the snowbirds in the fall time were huge motor home and trailer communities pop up. It happens at Coachella and Burning man. And yes it happens on the Polaris supreme too. Last night there was no sign of them. But this morning there's a full blown rod forest on the back deck! The boys are enthusiastic to say the least. The Polaris supreme crew.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon to let us know that The Tribute is running an overnight trip departing tomorrow night. We will be fishing the Coronado Islands for Yellowtail. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 12-03-2018 So that nasty old wind is gone! It's only about 2 to 5 kn between Guadalupe and Ensenada right now. I hear you guys have another storm coming in to California on Tuesday! Hopefully that won't bring the wind and swell for our ride home on Thursday night through Saturday morning! Oh yeah fishing! Fishing was good today, it started off at sun up and continued into the dark. It was kind of a steady pick all day except for a little lullishness during mid day. Our big fish today was around 110 pounds. Most of the other ones were in the 70 to 90 pound range. The hot stick still continues to be 50 or 60 pound Spectra/Mono/some guys are using floral carbon with a 3/0 hooked. The sharks continue to be absent and we don't miss them one bit. We will be here again tomorrow hoping for another big day! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Captian Tucker McCombs checked in this morning with an update from the Endeavor out of Hook's Landing.  The Seabass are still biting a little.  We have some nice fish on the deck today.

Nov. 14

We traveled home today. Just one of those perfect rides. It was like we were driving in the bay. Flat calm is what I'm telling you. Just beautiful. The passengers broke down all of their gear in the morning and spent the rest of the day watching movies and taking naps or just chilling outside enjoying the ride while the crew did the end of the year cleaning. Spring cleaning you'd call it only in November. That's right, we have no more trips leaving the rest of the year. It's time for us to do the land thing. Time to get our land legs back, work on our golf games, plan our ski/snowboard trips, work off all the Polaris Supreme meals we took in throughout the year or whatever else it is we do during the off season.

21 Yellowtail, 32 Bonito. The big schools eluded us today.  Have a good thanksgiving. We will be back on the hunt Friday.

It's been windy off southern Baja for a week or so, and it also blew a couple of days out at the Hurricane Bank. When Polaris Supreme skipper Drew Henderson looked out his wheelhouse window one day, he said it looked like Christmas, he could see so much white out there. At Fisherman's Landing December 4, Henderson weighed the catch for his ten-day anglers. There were tuna, wahoo, and dorado in good numbers. Bert Carlson of Long beach won first place for an 84.9-pound yellowfin, after the fish made a mistake with his sardine on a 5/0 Owner Offshore hook. He said he used 50-pound fluorocarbon leader and 65-pound hollow Jerry Brown Spectra on a Penn 20 T reel and a six and a half-foot Kencor rod. Chris Mohs of Ventura was second, for an 80-pound tuna, and Todd Cameron of Long Beach took third place for a 78.8-pound tuna. He also caught a tuna with an archival tag in it, which will bring him a $500 fee for the tag's return.

Offshore kelping today was tough. Not a whole lot of action. Plenty of kelps with not much on them at times, and areas of water with no kelps in it. We had one kelp mid afternoon where we had some action on shaker size yellows up to 20 pounders and a kelp in the morning with a handful of dorado on it. We'll be at Cedros in the early morning trying to get a tank or two of bait and begin our day yellowtail fishing.
