Captain Jodie Morgan called in with a wrap up from their recent 2 day trip last night. We had 75 Bluefin Tuna (in the 30 to 40 pound class), 63 Yellowtail, and a Dorado. We have a 2.5 day trip departing Sunday night with open spots. The trip is $625 and includes your meals and permits. Call Fisherman's Landing at (619) 221-8500 to get in on the action.

Captian Ryan Bostian called in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We had our first trip of the year today and we caught 42 Yellowtail (18 to 25 pounds). This was our first trip after doing a couple months of boat work. We did catch fish on using surface iron and yoyo too! If you plan on coming out on the San Diego please be prepared to fish both Surface Iron and Yoyo. You might also want to bring a bait stick too!

Hello everyone,

today we finished up fishing for these big blue fin tuna. It was an amazing finish. Everyone on the boat landed a fish 130 pounds or bigger up to 220. Incredible fishing for these big blue fin and enough to go around for everyone we will be in the dock tomorrow to get a final weight on these things.

This past weekend we went out with 33 anglers on both of our trips. Saturdays fishing was a little bit better as far as quality is concerned. On both trips we ended up with limits of rockfish but Saturday we caught 80+ red rockcod to go along with 3 lingcod and plenty of chilies and Boccaccio. Sunday we had a bit of a wind swell come up making the drift rather fast. Sundays count was 63 reds 2 lings and limits of rockfish. The weather forecast looks good for this week.

Andrew Viola called in with an update from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA.

We have Yellowtail limits on the boat, most of them around the 10 pound range and a fair amount in the 15 pound range. We also have 3 Yellowfin Tuna and 1 Dorado.

We have an Overnight trip leaving tonight at 10pm and a 1.5 day trip leaving on Tuesday at 9pm with open spots.

Good evening everyone, Just finished up a tough day here tuna fishing. Conditions really changed for the worse. With no reason behind it, the fish simply moved out. However this is not a problem, we have simply reverted back to search mode. With everyone spread far and wide trying to cover the vast ocean, we are bound to find something soon. However this does conclude our trip. We would like to thank LETS TALK HOOK UP! for putting on this four day and look forward to next year! "The X-Raps were working real good on the slide," said Polaris Supreme skipper Tom Rothery July 21 at Fisherman's Landing. "It seemed like the best colors were silver or bonito color. The zucchini colored skirted jigs were working real good on the troll. Fishing was good; we got enough fish, with good yellowtail at the islands and good albacore fishing offshore." David "Sammy" Samuelson of San Diego won first place on the trip, for his 37.4-pound albacore. He said he got it with a sardine on a 2/0 hook tied to 30-pound P-Line, a Saiwa reel and a Calstar six-foot rod. Bob Pollack of San Diego won second place for a 33.4-pounder, and Dick Emerson of Rowland Heights won third place for a 32.8-pound albacore. Jonathan Kendrick of Oakley stood in with the winners to show his 37-pound dorado, caught on a Zucker's jig in Mexican Flag colors.
