Hey everybody. More of the same today. Lots of sanding and grinding as we prepare for painting next week. The five of us have worked from 0700 hours until 1600 hours for the past two days and the weekend forecast calls for more of the same. No rest for the wicked, I guess. Anyhow, I'll update you all with some photos this weekend and you can see just a glimpse of what we've been up to.

Injury of the day: Boat-work always has a high level of danger involved, especially with being twenty feet in the air, scaffolding surrounding the boat, electrical chords running wild and very dangerous equipment in our hands. It's a very stressful situation and accidents do happen and today, one did. Jed got stung by a bee.

Capt Ryan Bostain from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat to give you an update for the last few days, the fishing has been very good for Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. We have been averaging anywhere from 30 to 70 fish per day, make sure to bring your 25 lb setups and some 1/0 or 2/0 live bait hooks. WE have been fishing the anchor most of the time, yesterday we stayed on the anchor all day. The fish have been averaging from 12 to 25 lbs, the loads have been light and the fishing fun. We only have 3 sigend up for tomorrow, but we are going to show and hope to get some walk ups, with the light loads recently there has been plenty of rail room for everyone.

Hard to beat the day we had yesterday, but we did.

We improved the already outstanding trip we have going with a taste of wahoo. Found a little honey hole and caught a fair amount on several drifts. When that tried up a few hours later we anchored up and had good tuna fishing from three until dark. The tuna were 25-40 lbs with some in the 70 lb. class. We'll stay the night and will fish half day tomorrow.

I missed a few days. I apologize. After we left Cedros we ran up the line to fish a day offshore. We hit a couple good kelps and a few kelps that we scratched good off of and ended the day with good numbers on yellowtail and dorado. We finished our last day fishing for albacore. A slow day. We saw a little bit of fish all day long and a couple of schools through out the day. We ended the day good with a bite right before dark. We're heading in now leaving tomorrow on another 5-day.

OK tired of boat work! Need a little motivation To go out fishing on The Polaris Supreme? We have a 6 Day trip coming up in 2 weeks and it still has 7 openings on it! SUNDAY JUNE 25th. We will be targeting the 50 to 300lb Bluefin that are 10 to 100 miles just out side San Diego as well as all the other usual species. The following pictures are from Rick Maxa (AKA Rock Cod Rick) Of Lets Talk Hook Up Fame. These Bluefin Where all caught by Rick and his Buddy's , some as close as 9 miles. THEY WHERE NOT CAUGHT ON THE POLARIS SUPREME! THAT'S WHY WE NEED YOU ON OUR FIRST TRIP ON THE 25TH! OK now do you want to go fishing! 6 days too long? We started off the morning with a few strikes on sonar schools of yellowfin tuna. We thought we were on the right track but things soon slowed down to virtually nothing. A few of the guys were seeing schools up above us, big schools but weren't producing much more then we where. We went and check those out and it looks like there schools of bluefin with a little bit of yellowfin mixed in it of course the bluefin don't bite. We spent part of our morning looking at eight giant kelp patties for two bites on yellowtail which we lost. Right now it's about 2:10 we have 20 yellowfin on board and were wondering where in the heck they're all at. We have good weather and six more hours to look wish us luck.

We departed today on Eric Rogger's annual ultra light load (19 passengers) 5-day trip. Eric always puts together a great group of anglers and this year is no exception. We have a couple of father daughter, father son pairs. This year we have had a few of trips go out with multi generations fishing together and as well as having a great time fishing, they are building great memories together. So we are on the hunt for fish. Our weather is ok. Not flat calm, but it is ok. Tonight chef Jeff pleased everyone with a delicious rack of lamb, with a honey mustard glaze on the side.
