lake of the ozarks Fishing Report 2025

Fishing today was somewhat subdued. We gave Guadalupe a check to see if the tuna have arrived without much luck. We picked up 5 yellow fin and spent most of the day rocked by home guard yellowtail. Our weather is gorgeous in the lei of the island. We will be back offshore tomorrow for some hot kelp patty action. It's first call for dinner tonight. Sauteed shrimp with tomato, garlic and parsley. So we will be back with you tomorrow. Thanks

Hello everyone, The past couple days have been tough out here. We managed to land some nice school sized tuna yesterday but not nearly the numbers we were looking for. Today we tagged some Grouper and a nice Dorado. However the highlight was defiantly the groups of Striped Marlin we found in the afternoon. They were high and dry with Frigate birds putting on quite a show above them. Not our targeted species on these trips but defiantly a nice reason to stop the boat and fight a couple. The areal show is always quite impressive. With the marlin in our wake we now have our sights set on trophy tuna tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

 Well, we got our tail on today.  We started up there and caught a few, then we went there and had a couple of real nice drifts.  Good tailing on medium sized yellows.  We'll call them 12-14 pounders with a few smaller and a some in the 16 pound range.  We were completely OK with them. I spent my whole time there in the pit with my butt in the air stapling tags on the customers fish while the rest of the crew were gaffing.  After a couple good drifts, and I mean good ones, the fish stopped biting.  No one knows why, they just quit biting so we had to make a move again.  Now if I had remembered there was a Charger game on at that moment it would've been a great time to listen to it being we were making a 3 hour move.  But I forgot all about it.  I was too busy thinking of our next move and the future moves of this trip.  It was a good game too.  If you weren't paying attention we beat the 2014 super bowl champs.  !0 point under dogs.  Beat them up.  That's right Seattle.  Look out nation.

 We didn't catch much when we arrived to our new hot zone.  A couple of handfuls of nice yellowtails and then it got dark so now we sit on anchor.  We can safely fish one more day here before the storm pushes us out of here.  Which direction we'll go?  I'm not sure yet.
          

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 10-20-2019 The Polaris Supreme arrived nice and early yesterday with the AHI Charter unloading a beautiful catch from down south plenty of Wahoo beautiful grade Tuna and Dorado! We were able to get out nice and early on our eight day open party trip with a fun group of regulars. Our traveling down was good yesterday as well as it is today. Of course the usual seminar on tackle and technique with a lot of rigging napping and eating some good food is going down today. Because of our early departure and making good speed we should be into the fishing grounds at a good hour tomorrow. Things sound a little scratchy at the moment but it looks like it has good potential for improvement. That's all for now we will check in with you tomorrow after hopefully a good day of fishing. Good morning everyone, Today started out slow. A slight wind and a racing current made it it difficult to fish in the early morning. However by around seven o clock a switch turned on and the yellows wanted to chew. The sea came alive with eager mossbacks. Eating everything but really keying in on the surface action. The fly line sardine and surface iron really were the super stars today. We were really able to pick off these yellowtail as they made their rounds crashing around the boat. We stayed busy all morning until lunch time when we had to pull it and head north. What a great half day of fishing! Really makes you appreciate days like today when it all comes together and everyone is able to catch fish. Will report again tomorrow, Team supreme

Pretty darn good fishing once again today, 26 Bluefin and 1 Yellowtail. Please make sure your gear is in good working order, I really should have taken pictures of some of the gear failures.

Capt Ryan Bostian checked in from the San Diego as they wrapped up their trip of 5::30 am to 5:30 pm full day trip, we ended the day with Mexican limits of Yellowtail for out 9 anglers. Yes we went out with 9 anglers, it has been light loads and looks like it will be that way all week. Today was a really nice change of pace as we dropped anchor and never had to move, and we had 1 - 4 hanging at all times today. The fish today averaged from 15 to 25 lb, the flylined baits and the surface irons worked really well today. We will be running everyday this year and the fishing has been really fun. Wish you could have been there, if the boat is still floating then we will be running.

65 yellowfin tuna (15-25 lbs) 129 purple skipjack aku tuna.  The skilled bait fisherman with a 20 lb setup and #2 hook was hooked up all day today.
