We had excellent yellowfin tuna fishing today. It wasn't a one stop shop or anything like that, but rather a short stopping thing for six or eight or more per stop but we did this every hundred yards or so and we did this all day. Normaly we would be 100% stoked with this fishing but unfortunately the grade was not great. We were looking for the 25-35 pound fish and would never think twice about keeping an 18-25 pound fish but the fish we were catching were as small as 8 pounds and not very many exceeded 12 pounds. We had good action though. We were kept busy all day long. Nobody had time for a nap. We were kept on our toes. Anyone who wanted to keep some yellowfin tuna had that opportunity today and many did though we released about as much as we kept but like I said it was still fun none the less. The weather wasn't ideal. The wind was blowing some and the current was going straight into the wind which calls for rolly conditions but the sun was out and it was ok. Everything seemed to smooth out after dark.

We're going to go do some yellowtail fishing tomorrow. .

We just got a report from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay.    We have 40 Yellowtail on the boat so far today for our 37 anglers. Check out the our latest photo from yesterday!

Went 1 for 2 on local Yellowtail. Fish are holding tight to the bottom, much like the one's we've been seeing regularly at the Coranado Islands. Our guess is that fish is moving north. This one ate a sardine on the dropper loop. We have Monday open for charter, then some days in July. Come on out and enjoy the fishing. 

After a 5+ hour drift we pointed for home with 50 bluefin(20-60lbs) and 42 yellowfin(15-35lbs). Never know what we might see on the ocean. Bring rods to fish 20-40lb line and size 4-2/0 hooks.

To say we were disappointed with our results on this beautiful 20+ ft kelp would be an understatement. This sweaty Betty was located in the same water as yesterday’s small kelp that kicked out limits of dorado. Mother Ocean humbles us once again. 5 yellowtail, 2 dorado, 2 bonito.

We departed today on the "Let's Talk Hook-up" charter with Rock Cod Rick and 21 anglers. Things sound very promising on the albacore grounds so that is where we are headed. The weather is sloppy and we are hoping it will lay down. Tune in tomorrow for an update.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-23 and 24-2016 We don't have much to report for the last two days just travel days with a tad bit of fishing. We caught one halibut, we had great weather, we ate a bunch of good food, took a bunch of naps, broke down our tackle, and tomorrow morning we're going to be into San Diego at 730 and unload a beautiful catch of Wahoo yellowtail and yellowfin tuna! Thanks for tuning in this trip we will be leaving tomorrow afternoon at 6 PM on a 1 1/2 day trip fishing on Monday. Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute to let us know that their 1.5 day trip is a go tomorrow night leaving at 7pm. We are hoping to take advantage of this weather window, the weather looks good for the next few days. We already have some good bait on board including some mackeral and sardines, so we are going to take advantage of this weather window.
