Another amazing day at the Coronado Islands. Our 53 anglers caught all the yellowtail they wanted on live bait and small yo-yo jigs.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-17-2016 We got out today bright and early without a hitch and are rolling down south for eight days of we hope will be spectacular sportfishing! The group today is an open group of "The Usual Suspects" that takes this annual voyage south with us each year. Our bait looks just okay so far? Our weather is fantastic. We have gotten a full day in of eating, sleeping and rigging.Tune in here tomorrow and we will have an update on our travel down day. The Polaris supreme crew P.S. We have just put a 1 1/2 day trip online for next weekend. It will be leaving Sunday night at 6 PM and returning Tuesday morning at 6 AM. Today we went out on our daily 3/4 day trip and caught 75 yellowtail. We saw some of the biggest schools of the year today. Yo-yo lures were the best,however we did catch a few on the surface iron and fly lined bait. Our next open trip is Thursday March 28.

Friday, August 31st, 2012

Hi everyone. We had ourselves a slow day, plain and simple. We had a few jig strikes throughout the day and our big excitement was a blind jig strike for 10 of those 25-40 lb. yellowfin tuna. Other than that, we enjoyed lovely weather throughout the day and Charlie Middleton issued me my favorite nickname of all, Mr. Magnificent. It says everything that you need to know about me, thanks Charlie Murphy! Anyhow, we're currently en route to the area where we had a couple of kelps last trip for some quality yellowtail and dorado. Let's see if we can't pick off a kelp and get down to business. Wish us luck.

P.S. I'd like to wish my beautiful mother, Cindy, a very happy birthday. I hope you enjoy your day and I'm sorry that I couldn't be there with you. I'm going to catch you a delicious yellowtail tomorrow.

July 1

We had a good day of tailing at the Cedros today. After a short look around this morning we had an anchor job where we saw a little sign of those premium cow yellows from last night. You know which ones. Those 35-40 pounders is what I'm talking about. We didn't catch a lot but you don't need too many of those to get the crowd on the boat (crew included) oohing and awing. After breakfast we made a move, got some bait and then it was game on. We had good fishing on mostly 18-22 pound yellowtail. We sure would like to see that fishing stay consistent. Those were beautiful fish.

After several hours of pulling and winding we looked for more of those cows and made some drifts for halibut. We got a handful of halibut and a couple more cow yellows before we took off from there and headed north. We're going to look for tuna tomorrow. We have a few hours of stopped fishing time and we're hoping we can do that catching tuna.

Everyones having a blast and eating like champs. Dinner tonight is seared Ahi. Lunch today was sea bass tacos. Last night we had a seafood Alfredo. That's right. Champs.

Capt Mike Pritchard just called in an on the water report from the Tribute, as of 8am this morning we have 40 Bluefin Tuna on the deck from 30 - 40 pounds. If you want in on this action bring your 30 pound yo-yo jis set ups, we also have sardines on the boat. we have room on out 1.5 day trip leaving tomorrow night, give Seaforth Landing a call at 619-224-3383 to get on board.
