hebgen lake Fishing Report 2025

Today was slow fishing for Wahoo. We only landed a couple. Not many bites and some were eaten by sharks. The conditions were rough and we were rolling around pretty good. We did have a shot at some large Yellowtail. They were deep in some treacherous country. For those who buttoned down their drags and pulled with all their might were able to tear a few from the rocks. A small victory on a otherwise slow day. Tomorrow we will still be pursuing Wahoo, but will be in good country for Tuna and Yellowtail as well.

Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing to give us a report from todays 3/4 day trip, we fished the Corondo Islands today for 59 Yellowtail. Fishing seems like it has been good for the last year, we have a shot everyday fro some good fishing. We do have some down days as yesterday we only got 26 Yellowtail, we are finding plenty of schools with fish ranging from 10 to 30 lbs. When you come down make sure and bring a flyline rig, a yoyo rig and a surface iron setup. We have had some recent success recently with some days of getting up to 80+ Yellowtail. The fish are starting to rebound, so come on down and get in on the action. We depart everyday at 5:30 am, come on down and see us.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a final count for their 1.5 day charter, they had some great fishing today. We had limits of Yellowfin Tuna, a couple Skipjack and a couple Yellowtail. We have been seing a little bit of Bluefin above the border, but getting them to bite is another story. All in all it was a fun day on the water, the quality of the Yellowfin has been up into the mid 30 lb range. Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report, "We're checking in live from the Coronado Islands, as of noon we have 14 Yellowtail on the boat. These fish are 15 to 25 lbs. They're located in shallow water so we are landing only about 1/2 of what we are hooking. Very good entertainment here this morning on a fly line sardine.

"We have a charter this Friday that has a few open spots. This charter will be departing at 4:00 AM. We are going to have plenty of fishing time on these Yellowtail near Coronado Islands. If you'd like to join us please call Dave at 619-207-7345. Things are starting to shape up at the Coronado Islands. Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-09-2019 This morning the bite started out early. We caught quite a bit of variety, an Amoco Jack, sum Pargo, an Amberjack, and the yellowfin tuna were still present! As daylight came around the skipjack slowly took over but not before we made a nice day out of it on yellowfin tuna with a few Wahoo sprinkled in. Guys are having a great time and our weather is beautiful. The Polaris supreme crew!

Today we went out with 16 anglers. Fish count for the day was 1 yellowtail 50 red rockcod 80 rockfish and 1 lingcod.

Shortly after arriving on the grounds we located a small school of yellowtail and caught 2. We then proceeded to drive around for 2 hours and never found another school. A couple of rockfish stops in the afternoon assured all 30 of our passengers will be eating fresh fish.

Polaris Supreme Trip Reports 08-03-2016 Today's trip has us departing on Henry Hampton's four-day trip. This is Henry's second year chartering the boat and it looks like he has quite a few new anglers. One thing about them looks the same though there are excited to get out and get at some good quality fishing. So off we go! We left the bait receivers with some of the most ratty bait that we've seen all year. Luckily we have a good supply in our center slammer that we have been rat holing for a few trips now. Departing this afternoon judging our options we have decided to try a little something different there is some new good-looking water and signs of yellows in a new area. As always happens the old areas are drying up fast. We have good weather today and a forecast of good weather tomorrow wish us luck. The Polaris Supreme crew!
