The Tribute finished off the day with 165 Yellowfin Tuna, 14 BluefinTuna and 1 Skipjack for the 33 anglers on board.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we caught 2 Bluefin Tuna, 30 California Yellowtail and 1 Pacific Bonito. We never found the big yellowtail blowout we were looking for but we did see sign of Bluefin.

SUMMERTIME CONDITIONS ! Hey guys. Two days ago the water at the Coronado Islands was hovering right around 60 degrees and the fishing was slow. Conditions started improving rapidly yesterday afternoon and subsequently so did the fishing. Today we went out with 43 anglers and captured 25 calico bass 58 barracuda and full Mexican limits of sandbass. While we did not manage to catch any yellowtail today, we did however enjoy steady action from start to finish. I took a photo of our temp gauge for all you yellowtail hunters out there. With water temperatures like this. It won't be long before the yellows get back on the bite. Be here the day it happens, not the day after !

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with a Coronado Islands update! We are wrapping up our trip at the Islands. We have 16 anglers and we have LIMITS of Yellowtail. The water temp have come up 4 degrees. Very good surface iron fishing and fly-lined bait too. If you are going to join us please bring a Passport. Hey everybody the voyager has another 1 day shallow water mexican coast trip set up for this saturday. We will be keeping everything under 200 feet! The bass fishing has been very fun in the kelp, along with shallow water reds! And all the other critters to go with them! The live squid has been abundant so we hope to make that to fish with for the trip. The trip is limited load to 16 passengers so act quickly!!! We are already up to 11 as of this morning!!  How about this... Today was awesome! We fished the yellowtail grounds today and it worked out. From about 8 am to 4 pm we were hot and loaded! 14- 28 pounds was the grade and they were snapping. After a slow couple of days like we had iit was perfect. Long drifts with 1-6 fish always on the line. Very little moving. Mostly all drifting and catching. Smiles for everyone and relief for some, myself included. It was a fun day. Windy as heck but we still drifted well and nobody cared. We left at 4:30 because the fish weren't really in the mood anymore and we wanted to gain some latitude to extend our fishing time tomorrow.

 

 We'll be offshore tomorrow hunting for yellowfin tuna. We're stuffed with the Jacks and now we want tuna. Wish us luck back home. Here we go...
 

 

Polaris Supreme arrived August 23 with skipper Drew Henderson at the wheel. Ryan Christianson of San Diego was chartermaster for the 24 anglers aboard on the Let's Talk Hookup trip. Mark Greul of Omaha, NE presented a 58-pound yellowfin at the scales and won first place for his effort. He said his fish bit a sardine on a 3/0 Flyliner hook tied to 30-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon and 30-pound Ande line. He used a Torium 30 reel and a Seeker Black Steel C8 seven and a half-foot rod. Richard Miller of Jackson won second place for a 40-pound albacore. Mark Cornoll of Jackson won third place for a 31.6-pound yellowtail.

Good Morning everyone, Today we departed on our Simpatico 6 day charter. We hustled and had a nice early start to our trip. We decided to start fishing kelp patties for Dorado and Yellowfin. We found a school of Dorado that bit extremely well. They were a bit on the small side, but the action was RED HOT none the less. Tomorrow we are hoping for Tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme
