grand lake colorado Fishing Report 2024

Drew Henderson docked Polaris Supreme June 11 after a three-day trip. He fished offshore kelp paddies to find a good catch of small yellowtail, a bluefin tuna and an albacore. Dale Goss of Lakewood got the bluefin and first place, as his tuna weighed 31 pounds. He enticed it with a sardine on a 2/0 Hayabusa hook. He fished with 30-pound Big Game line, a Daiwa H 40 reel and a seven-foot Sabre rod. Manvel Miuasyan of Van Nuys was second, for a 21-pound yellowtail, and Scott Tucker of Riverside was third, for a 17-pound yellow. Josh Evans of San Francisco got the albie. He trolled a cedar plug in natural wood color to land his longfin.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in at 8:45 AM to give us an update from the Tribute. We have 65 Yellowfin Tuna (12 to 25 pounds) very nice grade fish. We have been having very good Yellowfin Tuna fishing the last couple of days. Really wanted to bite today. Limits for passengers and crew, then we released them for an hour. Yes, we actually had to let Bluefin go.

Had a nice day of fishing today. Great weather and conditions. We had to work hard for our Wahoo and Yellowtail but the ones we did land were very nice grade. Hopefully the Yellows bite a little in the dark. Wish us luck! Also we have a 1.5 day trip leaving on July 20th that still has openings, jump on it to try your shot at some quality local Bluefin! Hello everyone, Today we spent our day off shore looking for Wahoo and Dorado. Again another day of tough fishing, but we did manage to put some nice Dorado and a few Wahoo on the boat. Not the mother load bounty we were looking for but for sure some beautiful fish. We are hoping that tomorrow will be the day! Wish us luck! Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-10-2019 Again we had another great weather day. Fishing was slower with just a little bit of quality. We got some nice grouper and Wahoo for the day. Spent a lot of time looking for a kelp with Dorado to no avail. Looks like we're going to have to make a move for tomorrow! The Polaris supreme crew!

Report 7-23-2016 Good Evening everyone. We cleared the point today around 1 o clock with a beautiful load of mid sized sardines. Immediately we were in the midst of a weird local weather system consisting of a unusual south wind and a choppy south swell. The conditions made it a little rough for the first hour or so, but then started to calm down and we eventually we settled into a nice downhill ride for dinner. Coincidentally around dinner time we came across a couple schools of yellowfin tuna. We made a quick drift before first call and was able to hook and land one. We may have only landed one but the grade of the fish was excellent. A solid 18 lb Tuna, a very refreshing grade of fish compared to the 10 ponders we have been seeming earlier this summer. Hopefully there is something to this and it builds into a legitimate biting school of fish. Very excited to see what the next few days hold. Unfortunately our second to none fish care had the fish spiked, bled, and into the frigid RSW fish hold before the camera was able to make its way down from the wheelhouse. So no picture was taken.We are traveling down tomorrow and will start fishing bright and early.Wish us luck!Team supreme
