Hello there Polaris Supreme Fans, Our fishing day started off with Capt. Tommy stopping the boat on a mix school of Bluefin Tuna and Yellowfin Tuna!! We driffed on that school until after lunch!! The Bluefin were between 15-45lbs and the Yellowfin 12-25lbs.

After a short break we came up on a kelp that was holding everything from Yellowtail to Marlin!! which turned into a nice plunker bite that lasted until we had to head for home, another great day fishing on the Polari Supreme!!!

Hello everyone, Today was our last day of fishing for our annual A.H.I 8 day trip. We fished the beach hoping that some yellowtail would be waiting for us. Although our time was limited we managed to capture some nice grade fish until we had to head for San Diego. The trip was a great success and now we are in for a long ride home. Even though the fishing was over, smiles were all around and we could not have asked for more. Great fishing, good company and amazing weather, this trip turned out to be one for the books.  Good afternoon, on our final afternoon of the 7th Annual Blue-White Industries Charter.  I'm looking out the window of the wheel house while I write you guys at just amazing weather and waiting for another beautiful sunset. This was by far the best trip yet that Robin has put together.  The fishing ended with a day that was second to none. Just about picture perfect weather, fishing that boiled down to if you wanted a limit of Yellowfin tuna, you could have had it. Most of the guys were catching and releasing long before lunch time. You couldn't ask for it to be any better!  I've personally been on every trip that Robin has put together, and we saw total improvement since the first year. The guys work great together at the rail, followed their fish, and even handled almost all og their own tackle rigging needs. I was impressed at how far they've come. Way to go guys!
 Robin asked me to share some notes from himself personally so I shall. "This 5 day Charter was perhaps our most interesting trip yet. Non-stop yellowfin tuna fishing in 100% American waters. Daily jackpot fish were all over 30 lbs. The Polaris Supreme is by far the finest run long-range sportfishing boat in the San Diego fleet. 5 staruisine, top tier crew Captain TommyRothery, 2nd Captains Tommie "Gunny" Miles and Jed Scott, deckhands Mark Clark and Mikey Mays, and galley crew Chef David Schooler and last but not least Gringo". 
 So for the final night cuisine Chef is preparing a roasted rosemary organic chicken with white wine gravy, mashed potatoes and French cut green beans with mushrooms followed by nice big hot-fudge sundae to end it. We certainly do not go hungry around here. We certainly can't forget the wine of the evening, 2011 Argyle "Nut house" Pinot Noir.
  So in closing, we missed all who couldn't make back on this final Blue-White Charter, although there are some rumors of some future outings with some of the guys, but we shall see. But On behalf of myself and the rest of the Polaris Supreme crew, with thank Charter Master extrodanaire Mr. Robin Gledhill and his sons Rob and Taylor for 7 amazing year on the boat!

Capt Mike Pritchard called in a wrap up from their 1.5 day trip, the fishing was great we ended the trip with 121 Yellowfin Tuna and 68 very nice grade Yellowtail. We had good weather and flat seas, looks like we have more Yellowfin moving up. We do have a few openings for a trip leaving on Thursday, if you want to get on this trip give the landing a call 619-224-3383. Our trips are starting to fill up fast with all these fish around, now is the time to get in on the action.

Nov. 14

                We had very good wahoo fishing today. We caught a lot of wahoo.  You don't see it much better then what we had today.  At least for a few hour window there.  We got our scratch on early, then we got our catch on mid to early afternoon, and then we went back to scratching till dark.  It was good.  I think I may of seen it better, I probably have in 15 years but this was pretty darn close to as good as I've seen, again, at least for that few hour window mid morning. 

 

                As much as myself and the rest of everyone on board would love to stay here another day, the wind is coming.  We'd have good weather tomorrow but we'd have to seriously pay for it on the ride home if we stayed.  So we're headed across to the Cedros area and we're expecting good weather during the ride across.  Who knows, maybe we'll find a kelp for some dorado and more wahoo tomorrow morning.  If not, we should be fishing for yellows by or after lunch tomorrow. 

                                                                                               

Ryan Bostian called in to give this report for the San Diego. "Today was our 1st Day at the Coronado Islands, after spending a month offsore. Today we went down to the Islands with 24 anglers and we're coming back to the dock with 32 Yellowtail. The Yellowtail we caught ran from 12 to 25 lbs. There are enough big ones in the mix to keep it interesting for sure. We caught fish on all 3 techniques today; flyline-sardine, surface iron and yo-yo lures. So if you are going fishing with us I'd bring three rods for the local Yellowtail fishing. Fly line sardine with a 25 or 30 lb. was probably the best way to get a bite. However, we did have plenty of fish on the lures.

"Com on down and see us, we leave the dock everyday at 5:30 AM. We'll be fishing these Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands as long as the fish are here. We saw some big beautiful schools today. Hopefully they stick around. We'll check back in again tomorrow.

Today we went out with 27 anglers and caught 30 yellowtail. These yellows have been a challenge to hook but well worth the work. The grade of this fish is as good as anybody can remember in the local waters. 25-30 pounders have become the norm rather than the exception. The wise angler would bring a 25 or 30 lb. bait rod a 40 or 50 lb. yo-yo rod as well as your surface iron rod with fresh 40 lb. Today we caught fish on all three techniques.

The San Diego checked in with us today. 

62 Yellowfin, 27 Dorado, 34 Yellowtail. Anglers changing their baits often had most of the bites.
