eufaula lake Fishing Report 2025

Mike Pritchard called in with this report for the Tribute. "We're off to a great start here this morning. We made a move down to the Yellowfin grounds that really paid off. We have over 150 Yellowfin tuna on the boat this morning. To that you can add 150 Yellowtail. We'll keep you updated as the day progresses.

"We're leaving on a 1 Day trip tomorrow night. I know some Bluefin have been caught locally. It's a good time to go fishing. There is still very good fishing to be had. Hope to see you on the water."

 We spent today offshore mostly looking to top off on dorado.  There were 7 of us long range boats looking to do the same today.  There was plenty of this warm water for all though.  Unfortunately there wasn't enough kelps with fish on them for all.  We were one of the more lucky ones.  We didn't completely top off but we were only 20 fish shy.  Along with the dorado we caught some small tuna off a few spots.  3-5 pounders.  Now keep in mind most everyone on board have never fished out here in there lives.  When everyone on board hooked one of these tuna at once, it was great.  They were all so excited and they all just loved it.  Don't worry, I very much encouraged the release of these fish.  This was a great group of guys.  Great.  Super laid back and just enjoyed every minute out here.  Caught a bunch of colorful jumping dorado, lots of yellers and even a marlin.  I can't wait to have them back.  And you know it's true too because I usually don't write that.  I love all our passengers.

 Tomorrow we get in and leave again for just 2 days this time.  Hopefully we get out of there good and early and then et some fishing in tomorrow.  I have no idea what we'll do after that though.  Time will tell.
    

The Ranta Charter started off fishing yellowfin tuna with a decent little score on school sized fish ranging from 10-20 pounds. Most of the fish were caught on the flylined sardine with 30 pound test and a 2/0 hook. We also had as handful of troll fish that came off of green and black zuker feathers. The next day we sought after some quality yellowtail between 20 and 30 pounds. Sadly, these fish didn't show like we hoped they would have. We saw a couple small schools of fish that came up and boiled in the chum, but nothing would stick with the boat. Fish were being caught on flylined sardine, yo-yo jigs, and everyone's favorite technique, the surface iron. We managed to pick away at some of these fish in the morning before calling it quits and moving on in search of a better bite. After hearing reports of the yellowfin bite picking up, We decided to make a run to the grounds to get in on the action. We arrived mid-morning with high expectations, as a couple other boats in the area had some big scores off big schools of yellowfin. It didn't take long for our dreams to turn to reality as a four way trolling hookup turned into a wide open bite. They were biting anything that was thrown in the water for a solid hour until most of the passengers had their fill pulling on these tuna, that averaged 15 pounds. We had a couple more stops for not as much success before pointing the boat towards something new. The last day of fishing was spent offshore looking for kelps, but dirty water and 20 mph winds made it hard kelp finding conditions/ However, we managed to pick up a few nice Dorado as well as a couple more yellowfin to add to our total. This was a great trip with some awesome people, a couple a which had their first experience out here fishing saltwater. Hello Everyone, Today we had a great day of fishing on 20-40 lb Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna. With a few 70 lbers mixed in. The style is awesome, long drifts keeping 1-4 going for hours at a time. We are loving the grade of the fish and that they are biting consistently. We are in tomorrow and leave on an 8 day. It will be nice fishing south for a nice change of scenery. Our private charter had passports and wanted to fish the islands so we enjoyed a day of stop and go action. They were rewarded with 73 yellowtail 68 bonito. Back offshore tomorrow.

Cold and crisp. All you want Yellowtail and had a shot at huge Bluefin, yet no bite! We kept enough Yellowtail for dinner with friends and family and released a bunch

We didn't have to go too far to get some good action on the albacore. Everyone hooked and landed some. Weather is good. We will head into blue fin territory tomorrow. Thanks for checking in.
