Great day heading up! Today we were able to find some Yellowtail to pull on. Good fish around, however it seemed that the water was a little too cold for them to bite good. Will be prospecting off shore tomorrow. We have a 1.5 day departing this Friday that still has openings. Perfect weekend trip to not miss work!

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 19 anglers catch 13 Bluefin Tuna. The best way to get a bite was finesse live bait rigs (20 lb floor #2 hook) or an 80-100 gram flat fall. I would bring both your heavy outfits and large flat falls for the bigger Bluefin Tuna.

This week had both the best and worst that the Coronado islands have to offer. The highlight of the week was on Tuesday as 20 anglers caught 54 yellowtail. Wednesday saw 65 anglers capture 31 yellowtail. Thursday thru Sunday is when the weather started to turn and as a result the fishing. The past couple of trips we have seen a few schools but they have not been biting at all. Starting this Thursday (18th) the weather is forecasted to get nicer and we have our fingers crossed that the yellows will start to bite again.

Capt Mike Prichard from the Tribute called in the final talley from their overnight with 148 Yellowfin Tuna from 8 - 45 lbs, some really goos fishing. We also had good Yellowtail of which we kept about 40 of the from 6 - 12 lbs with a couple in the lower 20 lb range, we also released a lot. We a also seeing al lot of Dorado around the kelps, we were not able to get any to bite today. Fishing across the board has been very good, although the Bluefin have not been around. Hello Supreme Fans, We started our morning off at one of the lower banks. Having talked to one of our code group boats that had fair fishing on bigger grade tuna. At first light we started to catch skipjack tuna and a few grouper. By mid morning we pulled the pick and started to go look around for that boomer school, and we found one! but it was not to be for us as the school didn't want nothing to do with us. After lunch we dropped the anchor and started to get some school size tuna to bite. We stuck it out there for the rest of the day and it paid off Tom Studley hooking and landing a 110 pounder. Just before dinner we pulled the anchor and headed for the bait grounds to restock our bait supply. Wish us luck. The Supreme Team.

Aug. 31

Our speed remained slow all of last night and today until we were 10 miles above our destination. We didn't arrive until 3:00 this afternoon. We trolled the place up for a while for no srikes before getting the anchor down. It was great yellowtail fishing but unfortunately the grade wasn't all that great. What we kept was mostly 12-25 pounds but we did alot of releasing to get that. We're going to try a different zone tomorrow. There is still alot of water to be looked at and we're in the beggining half of our trip. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a night bite going tonight. The weather is just dandy out here. Light wind and it's hot. Lots of sunscreen being rubbed on out here.

101 Yellowtail, 58 Bonito. Full size yo-yo lures, dropper loops with 10-12 oz sinkers and some fresh 40 lb mono is all you need.
