Great day of fishing today. We got into the Wahoo. Some nice Dorado in a fair catch of yellowfin tuna. Our weather is great and were settling down to a nice duck dinner.

Hello Everyone,
Today we fished for trophy Yellowtail and Wahoo. The yellows were biting good but most were able to get int the rocks, or get eaten by waiting sharks. We did manage to land some trophy Yellowtail as well as a single large Grouper. There were less sharks later in the evening so we were able to land more Yellows at night.
There was very little Wahoo sign as we were driving around, we did manage to troll up one.
We stopped fishing around midnight and started traveling up.
We will see if we have time to fish tomorrow or the following day, depending on the speed we are making.

We had a good day. We had a great day actually. From about 8-12 it was pretty darn good fishing. We scratched before that and we scratched after that. And from 5:30 until close to dark we had very good fishing. The best of the day. Heck, I'll call it the best of the year for us. Quality and quantity. Through out the day the fish was all mixed up. !4-22 pounds. This evening I don't think I saw more than 2 fish below 16 pounds. Most were bigger then that. Like I said, we had a good day. And we did it in the wind too. All day long it was windy, windy, windy. But we didn't care. We were catching fish.
We're going to stay the night and try and get another good hit in the morning and take it from there. We may mess around up the lee of the Island or take off offshore and look for tuna. We'll play it by ear. First things first, we want a good hit.

Reed checked in from the Fred Hall Show down in San Diego and just heard from Capt Ryan Bostain aboard the San Diego 3/4 day boat. The have limits of Yellowtail for their 20 anglers from 16 to 22 lbs, they were biting everything today. When you come out with us make sure you have your passport or passport card, cost is $145 per person. Good evening everybody. A fine night of traveling made for good speed as we arrived to our destination first thing this morning with high hopes of finding some wahoo and some tuna. We managed to find some sign of wahoo and we even caught a few while trolling around. Good grade of 'hoo as well, a couple pushing 45 lbs. for sure. Anyhow, the action wasn't RED hot, but we did catch a few skin and we also saw a little bit of sign on the tuna-fish. Although wahoo gets us as excited as any other fish, we just don't see the sign that would lead us to stick it out another day here. With the exception of the few handfuls of wahoo and the few small tuna we caught, there just isn't any spectacular sign of fish here. One thing that is spectacular, the weather. Another day of flat seas, light breeze, and sunshine, and with sunshine comes more bronzing, and a few of us did that too. In time, this area will produce but it's just not right now.

We got a little bit of something throughout the whole day. Everywhere we went we got yellowtail, but no real bug hits.
Our morning bite had great quality but not as many as yesterday. Our weather is still good because of the island. Tomorrow we will be in open water on patties looking for dorado, tuna and yellowtail. Great fresh yellowtail and shrimp scampi for dinner. Check in tomorrow for our report.

It turned out it was a travel day today. There wasn't any fish in the water we looked at today. On the way down we went through an area in the dark loaded with fin bait so we thought we'd look at it on the way back to see if any game fish found the area but they hadn't. The weather was fantastic today and we got a lot done. All and all we had a great time this trip. Most the passengers on board had never been on a deep sea fishing trip before and they all had a blast pulling on those beautiful yellows at Cedros. Thank you Mr. Tom Pfleger for making this trip possible. We all appreciate you and all our charter heads and all our passengers for that matter.
We're leaving on a 2 day trip tomorrow morning. That trip is designed to fish a full day at 200 miles if need be. If that's where the best fishing was we could get there on a 2 day where on a 1 1/2 trip you'd be limited to within about 110 miles for a full day of fishing. The best fishing is within 100 miles of San Diego so the cool thing about tomorrows trip is we'll have time to fish a handful of hours before dark tomorrow. There is still 2 spots available so let's go fishing!
