Steady stop and go action on school grade yellowfin. 59 yellowfin tuna 1 yellowtail. Private charter tomorrow tomorrow then back to open party on Monday.

Tuesday Dec 4 looks to be the best weather window for those folks looking to fish with us.  If yellowtail are unavailable we will target cod in 180-400 ft.  Before anyone freaks out, this picture was taken a long time ago and was on a Comercial boat fishing in legal US waters.  Come prepared for yellowtail and bottom fish.

Ryan Bostian called in to give this report for the San Diego. "I'm calling to give you guys the Coronado Island fish report. Today we went out with 52 passengers and we came back with 74 Yellowtail. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-15-2016 We started off the morning with a few strikes on sonar schools of yellowfin tuna. We thought we were on the right track but things soon slowed down to virtually nothing. A few of the guys were seeing schools up above us, big schools but weren't producing much more then we where. We went and check those out and it looks like there schools of bluefin with a little bit of yellowfin mixed in it of course the bluefin don't bite. We spent part of our morning looking at eight giant kelp patties for two bites on yellowtail which we lost. Right now it's about 2:10 we have 20 yellowfin on board and were wondering where in the heck they're all at. We have good weather and six more hours to look wish us luck. The Polaris supreme crew

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon with an update on the fishing conditions for the Tribute. We now have US limits of Yellowfin Tuna a total of 325 and 6 Bluefin Tuna. Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-13-13

 

Today was a travel/fishing day which means it was slow. We knew we needed another travel day to get where we need to be so we fished yesterday and traveled today as opposed to fishing today and traveling yesterday. We tried really hard though to find something to catch but it was not to be. It wasn't until around snack time before we found any action at all but it wasn't much. We caught 1 big dorado and 1 not so big dorado, lost a couple of wahoo and caught some mostly let them go to grow sized tuna. We'll be in the promise grounds well before daylight and hopefully that's when the fish start biting tomorrow. The weather came down significantly from yesterday and it's currently grease as I write this.

 

P.S. The Mystery writer will be back tomorrow, he needed a little rest.

Right now a boat could leave San Diego and choose any direction except east and see tuna. Unbelievable amount of fish, however bites are very hard to come by. 4 bluefin from 60-85 lbs 2 yellowfin tuna at 15 pounds
