Captain Andrew Viola called in late last night at 11:15 PM. We just wrapped up an overnight charter. It was a tough morning the fish slept in. The fish showed up later in the day and we managed 3 Bluefin Tuna (up to 120 pounds). It was a very encouraging sign of fish once we got on them.
We had a 2 day Izorline trip tonight and we have a SOLD OUT trip departing Friday night.

Went 1 for 2 on local Yellowtail. Fish are holding tight to the bottom, much like the one's we've been seeing regularly at the Coranado Islands. Our guess is that fish is moving north. This one ate a sardine on the dropper loop. We have Monday open for charter, then some days in July. Come on out and enjoy the fishing.

Tom Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme at Fisherman's Landing August 4 following a five-day limited load trip with 18 anglers. It was the Tom Chaparro charter, and Tom was aboard, winning the jackpot.
Chaparro's tuna weighed in at 66 pounds. It took a sardine on a 4/0 Eagle Claw hook on 50-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon leader and 65-pound Line One Spectra. Tom fished with a Trinidad 40 reel and a Calstar 665 H rod.
Mark Arbunich of Pacifica won second place for a 62.8-pound tuna, and Travis Donahue of Norco got third place for a 61.6-pound Guadalupe yellowfin tuna.

Hi friends. Checking in here to give a weekly wrap-up of our week on the Polaris Supreme. Before I forget, Tommy wanted me to mention that he and Susan are in the middle of redoing the website and they wanted me to let everyone know that in the near future, you will be able to book directly on the website with a credit card. So that's cool. No middle man. Alright! Anyhow, ...on to our week.
Jed and myself finished prepping the generators, threw a couple coats of primer/gloss on those beauties, and they shine real bright. Gunny finished painting the engine room floorboards and they're looking real nice. Really ties the engine room together, man. Our entire engine room is pretty much white and aluminum. It looks really spiffy, let me tell you. I'll try and snap some photos since passengers aren't allowed in the E.R. and get those to Tommy soon. All that is left is the prepping and painting of the mains and that will complete our paint job in the engine room. Yay!
On Thursday, the entire team shifted gears to getting ready for our annual Coast Guard inspection that we completed this morning. Tanya of the USCG took a fine-toothed comb to the boat and all that was found were a couple of small fixes. Great success! After Coast Guard, we put the lazz and anchor locker back together and called it a week.
I'm pretty sure the final count for Jed and Gunny today was a spotted bay bass each and we are even more sure that Mark is out of shape.
Have a great weekend. Season is just around the corner and those bluefins are snappin'. Quit bitin' your lip and get on a trip! On to the final phase of our maintenance season starting Monday. Take care.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an update from "The San Diego" out of Seaforth Landing. We have been fishing offshore for Bluefin lately but it is just not biting enough for us. So we are throwing in the towel! We will be fishing at the Coronado Islands tomorrow. Please be sure to bring your PASSPORT with you. Hi friends. We departed this evening at 1800 hours on another day and a half trip with a group of eager anglers and the voice of Let's Talk Hook-Up, Mr. Pete Gray. We loaded up on a beautiful load of sardines at the receivers and although we didn't get a full load of bait, we have plenty and the load is very healthy looking. Let's hope that we have something to throw them at tomorrow. We'll be on the hunt for yellowfin and dorado on kelps but we'll also take an open-water sonar school if one happens to present itself. With a favorable weather outlook and a good load of bait, we're anxious to get down to the zone. We'll chat with you tomorrow.

Hello Everyone,
We had another nice day today. Mainly catching good Yellowtail and Bluefin. It was a slow pick in the morning and slowed around lunch time. The second half of the day we focused on the larger tuna. We were able to get one bite, unfortunately the hook pulled. Slower action on the larger fish today.
Tomorrow we will be switching gears to Kelp patty fishing. In hopes of Dorado and Yellowtail.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. Today we had limits of Yellowtail and Bonito. The fishing was fantastic. We also caught and released even more fish. The loads are light and the fishing is excellent. Come join us on The San Diego!
