Today we caught 2 yellowfin tuna and did not like what we saw offshore. We are going back to the islands starting tomorrow. Bring a 25 or 30 lb flyline setup and a 40 or 50 lb yoyo setup. Passports required !

The Seeker boys have 3 Bluefin this morning up to 60 lbs.

Seeing lots of fish. Great weather.

Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme returned to Fisherman's landing June 4 after her first three-day trip of the new season, with 24 anglers aboard. Yellowtail were plentiful and many were released. Some bluefin tuna of up to nearly 33 pounds were also caught. Owner-skipper Tommy Rothery reported pleasant sea conditions and nice weather.

"We were way down there,below where everybody else is fishing," said Tommy. "It was a little rolly at mid-day. I don't know why."

Rick Yokley of San Diego won first place for a 32.4-pound bluefin.

"He took me around the boat three times," commented Rick. He said he fished a sardine on a 2/0 ringed Super Mutu hook, with 30-pound fluorocarbon leader and 65-pound Spectra backing on an Avet MXL 6/4 reel.

John Brown of El Cajon was second, for a 32.2-pound bluefin, and Paul Cheak of Benecia won third place for a 31.4-pound bluefin tuna.

Hello there Polaris Supreme Fans, Our fishing day started off with Capt. Tommy stopping the boat on a mix school of Bluefin Tuna and Yellowfin Tuna!! We driffed on that school until after lunch!! The Bluefin were between 15-45lbs and the Yellowfin 12-25lbs.

After a short break we came up on a kelp that was holding everything from Yellowtail to Marlin!! which turned into a nice plunker bite that lasted until we had to head for home, another great day fishing on the Polari Supreme!!!

Our PM Half Day saw excellent Calico Bass fishing, highlighted by a big Black Seabass trying to eat one of our hooked bass. We ended up spending just an hour and half on the anchor for over 30 bass released. We spent the rest of the trip looking for Yellowtail, but not finding the ideal conditions. 

"Today we went out we caught 28 Yellowtail. We had a couple good opportunities at them today, one in particular was a very fun stop. We ended up with 28 fish in the 15 to 25 lb. range. They are finding the fly line sardines the best on 25 lb, surface lures will work but the fly line is the best.

You go to a spot, you sit there catching nothing. All of a sudden, 15 are hooked. That is kind of the way they are behaving right now. Good evening everyone, Today we scouted some new area for yellowtail. With some good looking water on the satellite image we searched near and far. Spot after spot we tried long and hard, and just couldn't seem to find the condition we were looking for. Eventually we ended the day with a very low count. We still have our sights set on yellowtail for tomorrow. So we will be trying a new area tomorrow morning! Wish us luck, Team supreme
