topsail Fishing Report 2024

Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute with a fantastic on the water report for today, so far we have limits of some really nice grade Dorado and a couple Yellowtail. The Dorado were in mid to high 20 lb range, we then started searching for tuna and decided to put out some Wahoo jigs and we did manage to get a couple nice 50 lb plus Wahoo for out efforts. Hello everyone Today we had a nice day of fishing. We were able to get a nice morning hit on these Bluefin Tuna. Today they were not only 20-40lbers. We hooked some larger models in the 80 lb range. We did not land them due to long battles on 20-25 lb test. At least we know they are here and ready to catch! We will be trying here tomorrow for one more day before the wind picks up. Hi friends. Short report this evening as the weather is up once again. We checked out a different zone today and were only rewarded with a few fish for our efforts. We feel that the weather is jacking things up and once it backs off, the water structures will form again and we'll get back to business. Anyhow, like I said, our weather is sloppy but everyone is taking it fine and enjoying their dinner. We'll arrive back to the docks tomorrow morning and our ETA is looking like around 0630 hours. We'll brief you tomorrow and give you a trip wrap-up. Take care.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute on the second day of their trip, we have had very good fishing so far. Yesterday we had around 60 Yellowfin Tuna, 20 Yellowtail, 2 Bluefin Tuna in the 70 pound range, and 1 Dorado, today was more of the same with around 50 mixed fish so far and hopefully more to come. Capt Ryan Bostain from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat to give you an update for the last few days, the fishing has been very good for Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. We have been averaging anywhere from 30 to 70 fish per day, make sure to bring your 25 lb setups and some 1/0 or 2/0 live bait hooks. WE have been fishing the anchor most of the time, yesterday we stayed on the anchor all day. The fish have been averaging from 12 to 25 lbs, the loads have been light and the fishing fun. We only have 3 sigend up for tomorrow, but we are going to show and hope to get some walk ups, with the light loads recently there has been plenty of rail room for everyone.

103 yellowfin 12 yellowtail 1 skipjack. After hours of driving without hardly seeing a scale we found the right school at the right time. Never give up!
