Hi friends. Not too much to report today. Our weather was sloppy last night, sloppy this morning, and sloppy this afternoon. In all honesty, we were due for a good butt whooping' with the awesome weather we've enjoyed since July 2nd but the Stephens group did not deserve any of it. But, that's how it goes sometimes. Everyone is doing just fine considering and as we motored to the inside a ways, our ride is a lot better.

Anyhow, with the weather came a very slow day for us. The conditions made it difficult to locate any schools of Bluefin, whether on the machines or a visual sign, and with us being the only boat in the zone, we didn't quite connect. We gave it our all but considering the weather and latitude we remained at, we had to call it a trip right after Chef Shawn's killer Yellowtail taco lunch.

With that, we broke down our gear, TSP'd rails, and cleaned the boat from bow to stern and as of now (17:15 hours), the passengers and crew are catching up on sleep, reading, hanging in the galley, or getting cleaned up for dinner. I am the chosen one to serve dinner and deal with the elements this evening so we'll see how the turnout is for our seating. Hopefully, LB can keep it together.

So that is all. We'll be arriving to San Diego tomorrow around 08:00 hours and we'll chat with you on Monday as we depart for Paul Hess's annual 5-day adventure. Chat with you then.

On the recent Simpatico 6 day trip, anglers had access to fishing with Accurate rods and the new Valiant and Tern reels.

The outfits were perfect for the fish we encountered on the ridge. Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Yellowtail, and Grouper.

Good evening everyone, Today we spent the day searching for yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, and Wahoo. The conditions were poor but we still managed to scratch up some Wahoo. Not an incredible volume of fish but all still very appreciated. We are hoping for good current tomorrow so hopefully the fish decide to chew. We are going to fish the same area tomorrow. We had excellent fishing on the smaller grade yellowtail. We only kept 49 of the bigger ones and the rest were released. We looked for wahoo but they weren't around. But we weren't done. We got into a fantastic bite with marlin. We released them all but it sure was fun. We had carne asada for lunch and and a good old fashion roasted turkey with all the trimmings for dinner. The weather is kinda choppy but we are going south and our ride is good. When all was said and done we had a fun day of fishing but didn't keep much.

Hi friends. Absolutely gorgeous weather out here today; it couldn't be beat. It was flat calm, it was windless, it was sunny. We liked it. We're currently en route to the bait/Yellowtail grounds and our ride is motionless. Chef Schooler and Chef Shawn our downstairs kicking out Scallop/Shrimp Alfredo and strawberry milkshakes and root beer floats for dessert. We like that too. Anyhow, here is our day went.

The Mustache put us on one school in the mid-morning and we had a really nice go-around on some 25-40 pounders but as soon as they came, they vanished. No rhyme or reason why but they did. We had a few "filler stops" on smaller grade Bluefin and also some school-sized Yellowfin tuna as well but it wasn't enough to keep us from calling it a slow day. It wasn't for lack of effort and wasn't because of lack of fish, by the way. We saw multiple breezers of Bluefin today but they didn't react or if they did, they gave us the slip. Very frustrating to say the least. But, we managed to put a few on the boat before we began our descent to do some inshore activities.

So that is all. We'll be into the zone at 0400 hours and we'll be trying for some carnada. Wish us luck and we'll hit y'all up tomorrow. Happy Hump Day, y'all.

After a 5+ hour drift we pointed for home with 50 bluefin(20-60lbs) and 42 yellowfin(15-35lbs). Never know what we might see on the ocean. Bring rods to fish 20-40lb line and size 4-2/0 hooks.

18 yellowfin tuna 13 skipjack. Unfortunately all of the fish we found were in the vicinity of bait. Tuna that have not eaten for a few hours are much easier to catch than tuna that are gorging themselves on anchovies.
