Some great weather, good fishing and fun times during this weekends Penn Air 2 day charter.

Fish report for the first week of October. Anybody who has spent any amount of time in San Diego knows that October is a great month to fish and this October has been no exception. Limit style yellowtail fishing has been the norm rather than the exception this week. On Saturday we stopped on a kelp first thing in the morning and caught 250 yellows and left them biting. On days like Saturday when we catch a lot of fish in the morning our 35 degree refrigerated fish hold is really nice. Along with the great yellowtail fishing we have also had a sprinkling of 20 lb. dorado 25 lb. bluefin tuna and 20 lb. yellowfin tuna in the mix. All in all I would say we are having great fishing with no end in sight. Reservations are very important this time of year so if you plan to come fishing call 619-224-3383.

Hey everyone, 

Today we fished offshore looking for Dorado and Yellowfin Tuna. Action was few and far in between. We got lucky and stumbled on a small kelp patty that was loaded with Dorados and Yellowfin Tuna. We fished it for a couple hours, slowly the the rest hot Dorado bite transitioned into cleaner tuna fishing towards the end. Excellent day of action, fantastic day to end the trip on.

We are in tomorrow and heading back out for 8 days.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-03-2019 We scratched out a few nice grade fish today. We had a couple grouper up to 40 pounds and a few hands full of 25 to 40 pound yellowtail. We have some great pictures of them but we were unable to upload them to the computer from our photo apparatus. We'll work on that and try to get you those pictures tomorrow. The weather and food is great and were hoping for a big hit tonight. I almost forgot we had two really nice 60 pound Wahoo to go with it. Be looking for their buddies tomorrow! Mother Nature was kind to us today as we landed 164 yellowfin and 1 bluefin off of a 5 hr drift. Same tackle, a 20 lb bait rod and a 30 or 40 lb bait rod. Size 4 and 2 hooks.

2 days of searching was rewarded with a bottom of the 9th rally on good grade yellowtail. Flylined sardines on 25 lb is the most productive right now.

Stopping a school of tuna that is swimming at 8 kts often requires a lot of chum. Thanks to the best bait company in the business @everinghambaitbarge we managed to get a few schools to hang out with us for awhile. 42 bluefin 18 yellowtail.
