Good evening everyone. We departed earlier this evening for our second annual Optima charter with Garth and his best of buddies. We loaded up on some bait that doesn't look all that stellar but maybe after it settles down, they'll turn into some champions. Anyhow, we're on our way down to try our hand at some Bluefin tuna offshore and some Yellowtail on kelps. Apparently, the Yellowtail are growing a little bit, if you can locate the right kelp as one of our code boats did, and caught some 'tails in the 15-22 lb. range. Regardless, we'll be looking first thing tomorrow morning and we'll try to make a day of it. Our weather is beautiful and we're looking for more. Wish us luck.

 

Today was a tough day at the island. There was a lot of fish around but we had trouble getting bites. However the bites we were able to get were great grade. Most being 50-70 lbs and one standout that was well into the mid hundreds. We are going to try our hand at the variety the day after tomorrow. Hopefully Wahoo, Dorado, Grouper, and school sized tuna. Southern fishing now is on fire. so many kinds of fish in such a compact area. Jump on your 7 to 10 day trip soon.

138 Yellowfin, 39 Yellowtail and 44 Skipjack. Beautiful weather and biting fish.

We had awesome variety this year on our 8-10 day trips. Especially the Dorado fishing on kelp patty’s! 

37 yellowfin 7 yellowtail 5 dorado 6 skipjack. Never located the magic kelp but we were able to plunk on a couple tuna schools.

Good Morning everyone, Today we had some time to fish for Yellowtail along the coast. We managed to catch some Yellowtail mixed in with the Barracuda and Bonito. It was great action for the day. If we make good speed we may be able to fish tomorrow. Will report then, Team Supreme
