saginaw bay Fishing Report 2025

A pretty slow couple of days. We saw plenty of fish in tuna zone only finding one school that would react. We hit it a couple times before it scattered and we had to try and find something new. The next day we hit a couple of the shallows along the ridge. It was slow there too. We hooked a few marlin, a couple handfuls of dorado and a skin trolling around. We tried various anchor jobs for a few yellows here and there but we weren't going to get the job done there. We will be kelping tomorrow, way out far.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-05-2016 We finished up the trip nicely yesterday with great yellowtail and tuna fishing down below. It was pretty darn good! Unfortunately we have to travel all day today to get back to San Diego. As luck would have it though we have excellent weather traveling home! Thank you Henry Hampton for putting together another fun group of folks for four days of fishing. We will be in tomorrow morning at 6 AM to unload our catch and pick up a limited load of 20 passengers on Dan Ravta's annual five day trip! Hello gang, Well we just finished up our first few days of maintenance. On Monday January 7th we will have our annual Coast Guard inspection. As of right now I plan to be shut down till the end of the month. Sometime around the 1st of February we will resume fishing. I will keep you posted. Capt. Ryan Bostian

Hello Everyone, Today was a great day. Yellowfin to start the morning and Yellowtail and Grouper during the day. We did not catch a whole lot of Grouper but the ones we caught were big one. We cannot wait to weigh them at the dock. We will be working up the line tonight in search of Yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme Pictured here is Jim with a nice Dorado in the dark.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-07-2019 We spent the day today looking for kelp patties that might be loaded with Dorado Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna or Yellowtail. It didn't work out! This pretty much winds up the trip for us. Today was a bust fishing wise but the dinner was a bonus! Roger cooked up pork Oso Buco and Cheese Orzo. It was absolutely delicious! Tomorrow we will be traveling up cleaning the boat headed back to San Diego for a Friday arrival. Here is a few photos from yesterday that deserve posting.

 Oh how quick game plans can change out here.  Hello all and welcome back.  Or welcome me back.  Or... What was the question?  Never mind.  I'm back.  I had a wonderful trip off.  Spent a lot of time with my daughter.  She got much cuter in the last month and also became much more of a terror.  All joy though.

 When we left the dock this afternoon I felt pretty good about my game plan.  Go fish yellows for a day or two, then come catch tuna for the last couple of days.  We caught over a hundred tuna today on our departure day.  Good ones too.  20-40 pounders minus one 20 fish stop on small yellowfin.  Well that just threw a wrench in my whole plans.  I'm not whining though.  We're very grateful for what we caught today.  Not every boat in this ocean caught fish today.  So we're going to take it one day at a time now.  Hopefully we can do this again tomorrow.
