howe sound Fishing Report 2025

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. The water rolled at the Coronado Islands and the Yellowtail have stopped biting. We had 5 Bluefin Tuna today. We had 3 fish around 75 pounds and 1 fish weighing in at 120 pounds and the biggest fish was a 130 pounder.

The fish are biting fly-lined baits but they are really biting the Poppers. Make sure you bring you 50 pound out at a minimum.
We have seen some fishing pushing 200 pounds but we have not caught one of them yet!

Jodie Morgan called in with this report from the Apollo. "We are starting off with limits of Seabass this morning & 1 beautiful Halibut. You should know that there is beautiful weather as well.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an announcement. We have finished our boat work and will be running our first trip on Saturday, February 3rd. We will be fishing the Coronado Islands. However, we will be looking around and will be targeting the best opportunities. During the beginning of the fishing season it is very important to make an advanced reservation. Fishing is still good. We got a good handful of nice grade tuna with most being around 100 lbs. and Matt got a 188 lb. and Bill got a 192 lb. The weather is excellent. Just beautiful. Pedro delighted us with a roasted chicken with a great cilantro sauce. Really yummy. And dinner with a superb grilled steak. It was another great day.

44 pass. 101 yellowfin Tuna 2 bluefin tuna. Being prepared with different line sizes and hook sizes is very important when targeting the highly pressured local yellowfin tuna. These fish have many different modes and aggression levels. Listen to the crew and be willing to adapt and learn. No Passports required. We are sold out thru Sunday at this point. Polaris Supreme update 08-16-2012 JP. Wrap Up.

                  Thank you very much Eric Rogger and gang for making it a fun filled five days.  We hope you all enjoyed your time aboard as much as the crew enjoyed fishing with you.  It was really a spectacular catch to see once it was all laid out on the deck this morning.  The jack pot winners were again up there in the 40 pound range, with One Hour To Glory, Doug Aihara coming in first place with a 47.2 lb.

Another great day of fishing out here. We had 160 rockfish 7 lings and 137 whitefish for 16 guys on the Endeavor.
