Hello Everyone, We had a nice day of travel today. Mainly rigged up and took care of some chores. The guys were able to wet a line once today on a single kelp. There was a lot of Dorado on the kelp but none wanted to bite. However we did land a nice Yellowtail. We will be on the hunt for more Yellows in the morning. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

After an excruciating day looking for tuna and not finding any we decide to bail out and we were rewarded late in the day with some really large dorado. Had a lot of fun pulling them in. The weather started out crappy this morning but turned nice later in the day.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning at 10:25 with an update from the Coronado Islands. The Yo Yo Jig is the ticket. There are two school of fish out here today and we are catching the bigger models. We have 35 fish maybe up to 40 by now. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-17-2016 Good morning everyone. We ended up driving around most of the day yesterday and seeing only a few schools after the first two hours. That Bluefin was not up and foaming and boiling and crashing and jumping and breezing like it has been. Late in the day we got on eight Breezers that were the size of Midtown Manhattan that we made long drifts flying the kites, fly lining, sinker fishing, jig fishing etc. with no luck. Just as we were getting ready to take off to the Yellowfin tuna grounds after dinner we had a nice school come under and managed to hook a 115 pounder and landed it. Quite a long day but we ended up with two beautiful tuna both caught in the dark and both caught on iron. The majority of the Bluefin that is caught, is caught that way or on fly fish trolled with the kite through big schools. Today we will be fishing Yellowfin tuna and hitting kelp patties for Yellowtail and Dorado. Our weather is good and were looking for a little bit more action than one in the morning and one at the end of the day. We will check with you later. Have a great day. The Polaris supreme crew.

18 yellowfin tuna 13 skipjack. Unfortunately all of the fish we found were in the vicinity of bait. Tuna that have not eaten for a few hours are much easier to catch than tuna that are gorging themselves on anchovies.

Aug 12

We had a descent day of yellowtail fishing today. We were looking at schools of yellows this morning that wouldn't bite before making a move where we looked at schools of yellows that would bite. Not full speed but just a comfortable pick for hours. The quality was good. 20-25 pounders. After lunch it stopped biting for the rest of the day. We took a tour of the island for nothing then settled back in where we were before but it never picked up again. We're headed back offshore for a couple days in hunt for those tasty BFTees with plenty of bait now.

Capt Ryan Bostain from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat to give you an update for the last few days, the fishing has been very good for Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. We have been averaging anywhere from 30 to 70 fish per day, make sure to bring your 25 lb setups and some 1/0 or 2/0 live bait hooks. WE have been fishing the anchor most of the time, yesterday we stayed on the anchor all day. The fish have been averaging from 12 to 25 lbs, the loads have been light and the fishing fun. We only have 3 sigend up for tomorrow, but we are going to show and hope to get some walk ups, with the light loads recently there has been plenty of rail room for everyone.
