Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-09-2016 Good afternoon and thanks for checking in. We gave it a solid effort throughout the night for some greenies a.k.a green back mackeral to replenish our bait supply but they just didn't want to cooperate on a full speed basis. However, the we did manage to get quite a few in the tank. At 0530 we went right into yellowtail fishing. It was certainly a pleasant start having the wind subside from the two days prior. It just makes for an all around better day. We didn't fair out too bad in terms of finding spot after spot of fish, these things just seemed to have a little case of lock jaw. They come up boiling, showing real well, but only a handful at a time decided to take what we had to offer. Regardless, there was a descent morning put together by the guys. With everything really starting to mellow out and bite less as the morning went on, we decided to point north and gain some latitude to ensure everyone a final shot in the morning at tagging some fish before we have to call it a trip. Right now we are in some absolutely beautiful offshore water that should produce a nice sun downer stop. About another hour til Chef Mike lays out a nice coconut crusted yellowtail dinner and we call it a day. Thanks again for stopping by and we'll check back in tomorrow. Tight lines, Team Supreme

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. We have been targeting Yellowfin Tuna. Please be prepared for the bigger Bluefin Tuna too. We had excellent fishing today on nice school sized Yellowfin (18 to 25 pound). We had 41 passengers catch 133 Yellowfin Tuna. The hot rod has been 20 pound mono and 20 pound flurocarbon. Please be prepared and bring a 15 pound outfit, a 20 pound outfit and a 50 pound outfit.

Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing to give us a report from todays 3/4 day trip, we fished the Corondo Islands today for 59 Yellowtail. Fishing seems like it has been good for the last year, we have a shot everyday fro some good fishing. We do have some down days as yesterday we only got 26 Yellowtail, we are finding plenty of schools with fish ranging from 10 to 30 lbs. When you come down make sure and bring a flyline rig, a yoyo rig and a surface iron setup. We have had some recent success recently with some days of getting up to 80+ Yellowtail. The fish are starting to rebound, so come on down and get in on the action. We depart everyday at 5:30 am, come on down and see us.

Captain Andrew Viola called in a bit ago with an update from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. We returned this morning from a 1.5 day trip and the fishing was as good as it gets. We had limits of Bluefin Tuna and 10 Yellowfin Tuna. The Bluefin were mainly 18 to 25 pounds but we also had 5 or 6 fish in the 60 to 80 pound class. We did manage to catch two of the bigger models (150 and 170). We have a 1.5 day trip tonight with a few spots and an overnighter on Thursday. Come out fishing on the Pacifica.

Here’s the report and photos from Tuesday’s 2 Day trip: 41 Bluefin -28 from 60-90lbs -5 right at 100 -8 from 115-190 lbs 25 Yellowfin 20 from 25-40lbs 5 from 40-100lbs **Long drift all day. This big grade is biting the fin bait well. Bring your heavy tackle 60,80,100,130. The weather is improving so we posted a 1.5 Day trip for Thursday. So here's the deal. We had a good finisher today. We started bright and early with coffee and stuff and then got on a school of those 30-40 plus pounders. It didn't stick longer then for us to get a couple handfuls. Then we had more coffee and stuff and then we had another school of those bf's that treated us the same. Then Shawn was ready to serve lunch but before Tommy could give the announcement we got on a school of 15-20 pounders that bit well for us. We didn't hang out long. We caught a couple rounds worth and then gave the school to our friends on another boat. Then we searched for another school of those bigguns but never found it before we were out of time. We did find another school of the 15-20's and finished our time on those. They were biting good. It was a lot of fun.

After that the crew enjoyed a boat scrub while the passengers enjoyed naps, movies, champagne, wine, cocktails, soda pop, and some relaxation with friends. A fantastic trip with a beautiful day on the weather side of things too. Sunny with not much wind. Nice. Thanks Robin and friends. Until next time. P.S. Its in range of our 2 dayer.

Ryan Bostian called in to give this report for the San Diego. "Today was our 1st Day at the Coronado Islands, after spending a month offsore. Today we went down to the Islands with 24 anglers and we're coming back to the dock with 32 Yellowtail. The Yellowtail we caught ran from 12 to 25 lbs. There are enough big ones in the mix to keep it interesting for sure. We caught fish on all 3 techniques today; flyline-sardine, surface iron and yo-yo lures. So if you are going fishing with us I'd bring three rods for the local Yellowtail fishing. Fly line sardine with a 25 or 30 lb. was probably the best way to get a bite. However, we did have plenty of fish on the lures.

"Com on down and see us, we leave the dock everyday at 5:30 AM. We'll be fishing these Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands as long as the fish are here. We saw some big beautiful schools today. Hopefully they stick around. We'll check back in again tomorrow.
