July 9

We had another good morning today. We got on the fish around 6:30 in the morning and fished it until it went dead at 8:30. 20-25 pound yellowtail. Uh huh. After that we scratched another dozen fish on a few stops and decided to take off around 10 in the morning. We looked around until dark in good looking water but never found anything. A lifeless ocean outside the islands unfortunately.

So we have to head north tonight and we'll be looking for tuna tomorrow until we have to go home. The weather is starting to get choppy where we are now. My legs are spread outside my shoulders to help keep my balance. I think we should have some descent weather where we'll be tomorrow morning but it looks like the wind is on it's way.

 We have another two day online leaving Saturday June 29th. Come fish in comfort.

We caught 60-100lb Bluefin Tuna along with some school sized Yellow fin and Yellowtail on our father’s day 2 day.

Conditions seem to be improving for Bluefin Tuna fishing within the past couple days. The fish are more willing to bite for those who are willing to put their time in.

40, 50, even 60lb test mono,  floro carbon, with a designer 1/0 hook has been the go to outfit size for the grade of tuna around. However even though the 60-100 lb fish is the main size we have been seeing, the 100-200lb fish are in the area as well.

The guys are out at the islands with just 11 anglers this morning. They have 30+ yellowtail so far with lots of fishing time left. Capt Matt suggests a 20 or 25 lb bait rod a 40 lb yo-yo rod and your favorite jigstick and bass rod.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-17-2016 Hello Supreme Fans, We started off our day fishing looking for yellowtail. It didn't take long for the first one to come aboard, But it was short lived so we pulled the pick and made a 6 hour move which proved to be a good one! As the boat settled back on the anchor, We had several bent rods and the yellowtail charging the boat. The rest of the day we had steady yellowtail fishing until first call for dinner . During dinner we got the word that the yellowfin tuna were on the chew, and now we our on the hunt for them! The Supreme Team

Nice mixed bag of yellowtail ,barracuda and kelp bass for our 27 anglers today.

Hi friends. I just want to start off by saying that Travis Donahue our new best friend. That guy gets on the boat and the Bluefin just are drawn to this guy. He's been on the boat three times this year already and every time he's out, the Bluefin bite. It's truly amazing. This trip was no exception as he tagged along with Garth and the boys from Optima and we had ourselves a good day on 15-30 lb. Bluefin. The other boats in the area struggled but we filled the box a few times on a couple of stops and we also managed to catch three thirty pound Yellowfin off of a kelp along with some Yellowtail. Like I said, it wasn't for everyone out here but thankfully, we had Travis on the boat and everything was just fine for us on the Supreme. We also had awesome weather to round out a fun day of fishing and we're currently en route back to San Diego. We'll be back to the docks tomorrow morning around 0900 hours.  So we did it again.  We had a nice day.  Arrive/depart day.  Once again, we got out here at a good time and connected on a couple of schools.  We ended our day with 81 tuna.  And they're still that good grade.  25 pound average.  So nice.  Free ones.  Departure fish.  I told everyone to bring there horse shoes and rabbits feet.  I think they did.

 The bait thing went better than expected.  It wasn't Armageddon like I thought it may be.  We used 1/2 the bait I thought would croak and the rest hasn't had any die off yet.  Now we just need our main slammer of bait to hang in there.  The only thing is we didn't get a full load of bait so we may need to catch some down the line.  At least I hope that's the only thing.  Time will tell Joe.  Time will tell.

 We're going to drift here tonight.  It literally feels like we're anchored in the bay right now.  It's so nice.  We'll start here in the morning and try to do it again.  Let's keep the ball rolling.

Hi friends. Different day for us here on the Supreme. After thumping and bumping our way up the line last night, we were pleasantly surprised to find decent weather when we put the lines in the water. Our weather just got progressively better and better throughout the day. Super good feelings about that, especially after yesterdays beating. Anyhow, the Bluefin tuna cooperated for us this morning and we produced on multiple drifts all the way until after lunch. The grade of fish was dandy; a lot of 25-40 pounders with a few bigger and few smaller in the mix, but for the most part, it was a nice quality of tuna that the gang threw aboard today and we deserved it.

Although we would've liked more to make up for yesterday, we're happy that the gang had some action and we're happy with the quality. We're also happy with Chef Schoolers Fillet Oscar that we haven't had in a few weeks. With that, we've put a bow on this 3-day adventure and are currently en route back to San Diego. Our ETA is looking like around 06:30 hours tomorrow. The boat turns around for Mr. Eric Roggers 5-day party cruise. Look for Captain Drew to man the helm and the keyboard. Take care, y'all.
