Polaris Supreme Report 07-14 -2016 #2 Well our yellowtail bite we had going on this morning never ended. It lasted almost 12 hours. Constant action all day long! Surface iron fish was insane! Everything we threw at them pretty much got bit. What a day and what an amazing grade these fish where! Definitely the best yellowtail fishing we have had this year! The plan for tomorrow is to use this beautiful weather to our advantage to hopefully load up on some Tuna! Good morning everyone, Today started out slow. A slight wind and a racing current made it it difficult to fish in the early morning. However by around seven o clock a switch turned on and the yellows wanted to chew. The sea came alive with eager mossbacks. Eating everything but really keying in on the surface action. The fly line sardine and surface iron really were the super stars today. We were really able to pick off these yellowtail as they made their rounds crashing around the boat. We stayed busy all morning until lunch time when we had to pull it and head north. What a great half day of fishing! Really makes you appreciate days like today when it all comes together and everyone is able to catch fish. Will report again tomorrow, Team supreme

Today we went out with 13 anglers and caught 33 yellowtail and 12 rockfish. The best way to catch a yellowtail today was on a yo-yo lure. These fish are very big and mean so make sure you have fresh 40 or 50 lb. monofilament. We did manage to catch a couple of yellowtail on the surface iron but the yo-yo was by far the most consistent. The yellowtail were in the 18-30 lb. class.

Ladies are absolutely killing it today! The OTR charter is really getting in on these great grade Yellowfin Tuna!

125 yellowfin for our 45 passengers. We had 2 drifts today both of which took a finesse presentation to get a bite. Size 2 or even size 4 hooks on 20lb flouro carbon is still the recommended set up when the tuna are picky. And special thanks to Captain Todd and crew of the @voyagersportfishing for letting us double team a very nice school with them.

Hey guys, after two weeks of fishing for yellowtail in U.S. waters, we have now decided to head back down to the Coronado Islands. We have still been seeing plenty of yellows in the local waters but they just have not got with it like we wanted them to. Yellowtail have been spotted from the rockpile to Catalina island over the past week. I honestly feel that the Coronado Islands is going to be our best bet at finding some yellowtail that want to bite well. Our first trip to the islands is tomorrow, Friday 27th.
