Polaris Supreme Trip Update 07-05-12

      

       We departed yesterday afternoon on a 1 1/2 day charter we picked up at the last minute so we are a little behind on our reports. When we left the dock with our 4 anglers the outlook was semi promising. There was one boat with 15 of the large bluefin late in the day at 150 miles and signs of 20 to 30 pound fish at 120 miles but it wasn’t biting. We woke this morning to find the ocean flat and calm as could be with spots of breaking 20 to 30 pound bluefin signaling us to stop. And stop we did and where rewarded with a hook up all the way around for every one on deck (all 3). The bottom line on our day was limits of small yellowtail and every one caught a couple of bluefin each except 1 angler only landed one. That’s 20 yellowtail and 7 bluefin, most of which was caught in the afternoon at 120 miles. The gang all had an excellent time and we would like to thank them all. This area has defiantly fallen apart and Drew and the boys will be taking you guys going out tomorrow farther south on your 2 day trip tomorrow so don't be late he will leave as soon as you all get down to the boat and ck in 11:00 am or sooner. The killer bluefin fishing right now is at 250 miles with the upper end being at 180 miles. You guys should be below 180 miles if you can clear the dock buy 12:00. So don't be late. This fishing in the 250 mile zone is insane. The best bluefin fishing in years if want to jump on a 2 to 5 day and target this fish call Susan at the Polaris Supreme office. Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 30 passengers and we caught 3 Bluefin Tuna, 82 Yellowtail and 30 Bonito. We had very good sign of Bluefin Tuna today.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 12-02-2018 We got into Guadalupe Island with about two hours to fish before dark. The school we got on was not large but we managed to hook several nice fish the biggest one being 135 pounds. The two boats fishing the island while we traveled down today had probably one of the best days of the year. Super stoked and excited for tomorrow! Weather is of course excellent at the island . We will be checking in tomorrow evening after hopefully an awesome day. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

We had a great day fishing open water on the yellowtail up to 25 lbs, and dorado up to 20 lbs. Our weather is excellent. It couldn't be any better. Today was just a fantastic day.

Shortly after arriving on the grounds we located a small school of yellowtail and caught 2. We then proceeded to drive around for 2 hours and never found another school. A couple of rockfish stops in the afternoon assured all 30 of our passengers will be eating fresh fish.

We departed today on the Davis Construction annual private charter. This year there are six lucky individuals who were invited to go, with Jim and Gunnar being the new guys. We loaded up at the bait receivers with some excellent bait, and headed down south in beautiful, flat calm weather. Everyone is excited at the prospects that lie ahead. We dined on a great barbecued pork tenderloin for lunch and just enjoyed the company and the smooth ride.

It started out great and got better and better. The whole boat went bendo kelp after kelp and the kelps weren't to far between. I'd say we could have done better on the hoo. We lost alot more than we landed. The anglers were pulling the tricks out of their sleeves seeing what cool ways they could get bites. Hookless jigs, taquitos etc. We couldn't ask for better weather. It is unbeatable. We're headed up north to finish the trip with some yellowtail fishing.
