We have a 2-day trip coming up and need some people to help fill it. This could be a great opportunity to get in on some sea bass action. There were already a few 40# sea bass caught at the channel islands last weekend Here is the info for the trip. I hope to see you there.

2 Day trip on the Apollo
Departs: Friday April 29, 2011, (8:00 p.m.)
Fish: Saturday, April 30, 2011 and Sunday May 1st, 2011
Returns: Sunday, May 1, 2011 (evening)
Landing: Sea Landing, Santa Barbara, CA
Targeted Species: Seabass, Halibut and Rockfish
Meals: Has not been included
Drinks: Have not been included
Fish Cleaning, Jack pot, and Gratuity are extra

Reserving a spot: In order to reserve your spot, I will need a 50%
deposit ($160.00). The balance shall be due one month prior to
departure.
Cancellation Policy: No refunds can be issued; it is your
responsibility to find a replacement. In the event the boat is cancelled
due to inclement weather the trip will be re-scheduled.

Choppy seas turned into a flat beautiful ocean. We think the fish liked it as much as we did. 76 yellowfin 75 skipjack for our 38 passengers.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in late last night with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay, CA. We caught 97 Yellowtail and 120 Calico Bass today. The majority of the fish were caught on fly-lined baits. We did catch some Yellows on the YoYo too!
Bring a 25 pound live bait stick with mono. We do not recommend spectra and a shot top shot for what we are doing right now. Also 1 and 2 o hooks. For yoyo bring your 40 pound outfit.

Hello everyone, Today was the last day of our SImpatico 5 day charter. We decided to try our hand again at these Bluefin Tuna. The weather was choppy and it was uncomfortable for everyone. We only scratched up a couple of small tuna during the day. It wasn't until the evening that we found a school that wanted to play. We got our shot right before dark on a school right at the buzzard, at the end of the day. The fish were from 25 to 80 lbs, a nice mixed school to bring aboard and save the day! We had a great drift until dark, and we were excited to get the action in. What a great way to finish a great trip! An unbelievable variety on this trip including White Seabass, Halibut, Yellowtail, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, and even a 141lb Bluefin Tuna! Also I would like to thank Charter master Vernon Burke for putting together such a fun charter with a great group of guys! Always look forward to the trip and cant wait till next year! This year is my 20th straight season operating a boat at the Coronado Islands. The fishing that is happening right now is the best I have ever seen. Boats from 10 ft to 124 ft all drifting and getting them. Don’t miss out on this amazing display of bio-mass. Please be responsible and only keep what you need. Have fun, be responsible and help a kid or a beginner. The guys are getting them again this morning. 75+ out of their first stop.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-06-2019 The Polaris supreme departed today on Bill Stephens annual eight day trip. We got a nice early start and are hoping to arrive at our final destination in a few days bright and early. We have a great group of guys/and one girl heading south excited about the signs that Alec saw last trip on the simpatico trip. No pictures yet will save that for when we start catching something.  Here we go again.  Arrive/depart today.  Off with the old, out with the new.  5 days.  That's how long we have on this one. 5 days.  Weather forecast looks terrific for at least the next few days so that's wonderful.  We have another first for me this trip.  Before this trip I have never loaded up with straight mackerel for bait.  Other than the last trip but that was a 1.5 day trip.  This is long range.  Straight mackerel.  That's 3 top tanks, and 2 big slammers full below deck.  All full of mackerel.  So this will be interesting.  It looks like great yellowtail bait.  Not great for chumming but great for catching the yellows, and I'm sure the bluefin will eat them too, just not as well as the sardine.  Oh well.  It is what it is.  We'll just make lemonade, that's all.

 So to start things off tomorrow we will be fishing for those yellowtails.  And most likely, we'll be doing that for the next couple of days before getting in the hunt for the blues.  Action.  We want action.  Wish us luck.
