Hi friends. I missed you all, a lot. I'm back to tell some stories to y'all and inform you of our activities. We departed this morning on Tom Chaparro's 6-day adventure with his closest friends and family. Tommy and myself have given Drew and Matt Damon, and Ali some time off and we've also brought along a new galley assistant and her name is Daneen. We call her D and she's awesome and a pleasure to have on-board. Hard-working, funny, and happy to be here. She left such a great impression on me, I actually cleaned up the salad station after I served dinner and anyone who knows me, knows that I make a mess preparing salads and usually never clean it up. I couldn't help but chip in for the new girl. She's rad and all of our passengers are going to be thrilled to meet her and The Supreme Team just keeps getting stronger.

Anyhow, enough about our stellar crew, what I will talk about that's stellar is our bait, our weather and our attitude. We're pumped to point this beautiful boat on a southerly course and get down to the local Bluefin grounds. We did have one stop during Chef Shawn's prime rib dinner and landed a handful of BF during the melee. Good times!

Anyways, we're out. We'll be up 05:30 hours tomorrow morning trying for some Bluefin and we'll see what happens. We'll report back to you tomorrow. Wish us luck and good night.

P.S. To Mary Chaparro: We on the Polaris Supreme crew are deeply saddened that you aren't joining us this year. Jed is really sad because he loves spending his birthday with you on this trip. Anyhow, we miss you and we'd better see you next year! See ya.

Captain Andrew Viola called in late last night at 11:15 PM.  We just wrapped up an overnight charter.  It was a tough morning the fish slept in.  The fish showed up later in the day and we managed 3 Bluefin Tuna (up to 120 pounds).  It was a very encouraging sign of fish once we got on them.  

We had a 2 day Izorline trip tonight and we have a SOLD OUT trip departing Friday night.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-05-2016 We finished up the trip nicely yesterday with great yellowtail and tuna fishing down below. It was pretty darn good! Unfortunately we have to travel all day today to get back to San Diego. As luck would have it though we have excellent weather traveling home! Thank you Henry Hampton for putting together another fun group of folks for four days of fishing. We will be in tomorrow morning at 6 AM to unload our catch and pick up a limited load of 20 passengers on Dan Ravta's annual five day trip! 27 yellowtail 130 assorted rockfish 5 calico bass. For a brief period this morning the yellowtail reacted a bit better than the last couple of days. Hoping it’s a sign of things to come.

Hello everybody. Good times this morning on the sea anchor. Biting bluefin tuna with a smattering of nice yellowtail to start off our day made breakfast taste that much better for everyone who attended the meal call. A half pound breakfast burrito tastes just a little better after pulling on fish for a couple hours after the sunrises. Anyhow, we had another decent day today of catching bluefin and yellowfin, mostly on blind jig strikes, and shaking off "neck-tie" yellowtail and dorado's to fill in the gaps when the tuna had their noses in the mud. For the most part, their noses stayed in that mud but when they did pop up, we made the most of it with some quality tuna fish.

Another solid day made for the decision to head coastal and see if we can't find us some yellowtail's with some size to them. We'll give this offshore scene another try later but for now, we're going to get out of the wind for a bit and give the anglers a change of scenery. We'll fill you in on our day tomorrow evening.  The fishing was very slow for us this morning.  We caught nothing.  Of course that was due to us not fishing at all.  We were in full travel mode trying to make our destination shortly after lunch which we did and from here on out for the foreseeable future we're fishing baby.  So we were hoping to have a hit on wahoo.  The last boat that was in here caught 20 or 30 in a couple days and we thought they were moving in.  Maybe they were.  When we got here there were two boats already trolling it up.  Bad sign for wahooing.  We ended up getting one on the marauder and another 4 drifting.  Nice ones too.  5 lucky anglers.

 The tuna fishing was good.  Not wide open.  It looked really good on the machines but we could only scratch at them.  It was still plenty good to start off our trip and get us going. We tagged about 4 per rod this afternoon so definitely good fishing. No yellowtail though unfortunately.  We were hoping for some of that but we never saw one.  So we're making a move to look for more yellowtail to go along with the tuna we're catching.  We're going to do at least one more day here if not two before moseying on down to look for cows.

 The weather has been great so far.  Rolly this morning with offshore wind but that straightened out.  We had an action packed afternoon which is just what we needed.  See you tomorrow.
      

Hello everyone, Today we departed on our Hess 8 day charter. With a nice load of bait we are headed south. Our 8 day charter this year is a celebration of life and dedication to Shane Maynard who we lost September 13 and Bob Snyder who passed away may 30th both were the type of friend everyone should be: fun, honest, generous, and humble. Neither wanted to be the center of attention, but always the rock, dependable, reliable, solid. Both loved our trip as a highlight of the year. Part of them will always be on the Supreme. Sadly missed but never forgotten. Our love to Shelly and Diane. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme
