Rolling down on the Ranta trip! Grease calm seas here rolling down on the Ranta 6 day trip. We had a great day of rigging, and are ready for action tomorrow. We may have a little wind this evening but it should subside by about 1 am for us. We start fishing tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Everybody is relaxing as we travel home in good weather.

Well we just traveled all day heading toward the fishing grounds. The passengers worked on preparing their gear and relaxed. We dined on Chicken ala King in puff pastry, grilled zucchini, and saut?©ed carrots for lunch. And for dinner we had an excellent veal shank in a caper sauce with roasted potatoes, baked parmesan tomatoes and salad bar. Thanks for checking in.

Hey everyone it's time again to start seriously thinking about when you will be able to get on the boat for a tuna trip. Well the albies are being caught right now in good weather and some bft are showing up too. We have 2 openings on a two day charter next week. We depart on Wednesday night and return on Friday night. Fishing report for the week of sept 16-22. This past week was all about looking thru the binoculars and praying that you find the lucky kelp. Scores for the 3/4 day boats this week have ranged anywhere from 0 to 150 fish. The highlight of our week was a kelp we found on Thursday which kicked out 44 nice size dorado and 100 yellowtail. On Friday we caught our first yellowfin tuna of the season. This season is showing no signs of slowing down so make those reservations and come on down.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this morning at 6:02 AM with an update from yesterday’s trip aboard the San Diego!  We are on our way out Saturday morning.  We had a good trip yesterday.  We went out with 36 passengers and we caught 15 Bluefin Tuna.  Two of the Bluefin were 60 to 65 pounders.  The rest were 30 to 35 pounders.  There are also some bigger ones jumping around out there.  We also had a kelp for 74 Yellowtail and 26 big Bonito.

We are heading out right now there is a slight wind lump.  Call Seaforth now at (619) 224-3383 to get in on the action.

Bring a flat-fall rig and a bait stick.  We recommend a heavy stick for fat-fall and a 2 speed reel with 60 to 80 pound spectra and a short top shot.

Sep. 20

11:00 am report. Well we did as planned and found the mega school of awesome grade yellowfin and topped off on those things. If you remember our first days report we had a very good morning on them so we just needed a topper and that's what we did. The way this yellowfin fishing has been in the month of September in the area we fished is that there seems to be one mega school of it. It was as good as it gets. It wasn't long at all before we were straight releasing everything we hooked. Fun fun fun! Well needless to say we're in bluefin/dorado mode the rest of today and tomorrow. We have a mast rotation going and I'm sure the passengers have a nap rotation going. The weather is great and I'll finish my report later in the next paragraph.

It's later. We never found any bluefin or dorado. We had many more stops on mixed grades of yellowfin which all went back in the ocean to live to fight again and make babies and stuff. So we'll spend tomorrow looking for the blue dogs and the super colorful ones and then we'll head for home.

For some reason there is 1 spot available on our Accurate sponsored 8 day trip departing Oct. 12th. Weird but yes, 1 spot still available so get off your butts one of you and let's go fishing. We also need to get some of you to go fishing on our 12 day leaving on Dec. 2nd. That trip is cool because if there is 200 + pound yellowfin at the lower banks you get to fish them for up to 7 days! And if they aren't around there at that time there is still plenty of time to get down below to the Hurricane Bank and catch them down that way too along with the wahoos. So let's go people!
