Captain Ryan called in late last night to report fantastic fishing conditions on the Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. The fishing were biting live bait. Ryan recommends 25 pound mono with a flurocarbon leader. The fishing are in the 20 to 25 pound class. They were biting really good. Come on down and fish on the San Diego. July 30
    We had a great day.  Of course the morning had us worried.  We started in the day befores hot spot and it was ice cold.  I felt disgusted but what we do in those situations as a group of boats is find them and that's what happened so in the afternoon we had a couple very good drifts on yellowfin tuna.  Our first drift was at 2:00 after lunch and it was a long plunker bite of 1-3 going at a time.  After that we already had a good day and a good trip.  We had the whipped cream and the nuts but I wanted the cherry so after an hour or so of hard looking we found our sun downer school.  It was a little more fast paced this time and it lasted almost until sunset on the yellowfin and well past dark for the 3 bluefin we hooked.  They were 50-80 pounds estimated.  We'll find out at the scale tomorrow.  They'll make jack pot go quickly because I'll only need to weigh 3 fish.
    
    The weather today was fantastic.  We're headed in and we'll be dockside tomorrow at 7:00 in the AM.  I'll be handing the keys over to Tommy and I'm finally going home for the first time this season.  I'm looking forward to getting to know my baby again who will be turning 4 months this Saturday.

The Voyager just got a opening on the 28th of may and will be running a overnight mexican coast trip. Limited to only 16 passengers!!! Hi friends. Well, our move paid off to go kelping out in right field. We hit a few kelps throughout the day and after weeding through the shaker yellowtail, we were rewarded with some quality yellowtail and dorado currently chilling in the RSW. The gang had themselves a real ball and we're hoping with the good weather forecasted, we'll be able to get on a few schools of tuna tomorrow and finish up the Joe Beck/Bob Vance trip with a bang. We're traveling up the line to hopefully drift up some squid later on tonight. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.

Good evening and thank you for reading the Polaris Supreme. If your reading for the boats e.t.a., the boat will be at fisherman's landing at 6 a.m. In fishing news, we had a good day. 160 mixed fish is what we tagged today. Yft, bft, yt, and dorados. In Latin spelled for the most part incorrectly because this is off the top of my head it goes Thunas Albacares, Thunas Thynis, Sariola Dorsalis and Coryphahene Hipperus. The weather was great. The only bad thing was our bait. I'm sure we missed out on a lot more tuna due to the lack of live bait in the water. The yellows and dorado didn't seem to care so much but we saw a lot more tuna in the water then what we caught which was 66. Myself and the fleet is ready for this bait nausea do be over with but until then, we just have to deal with it. So if your coming on a future 1 1/2 day, make sure you bring some jigs. Swim baits and mega baits work well on the slide and the yo-yo iron works good while we drift.
