Hi friends. I bronzed today...again. I'm practically glowing, it's madness! I look like Oprah. Everyday of this trip has been stellar weather, and I've been bronzin' ever since the bait receivers, and I can only hope that we're not going to pay for it in a couple of days when we start making our way back to San Diego. We'll see. Anyhow, the fishing today was fair. It wasn't bad, it's just that we had high hopes for wahoo and they're still eluding us to this point. Matt Herrington, Paul Briscoe, Eric Kinnicutt, and Polaris Supreme first-timer Dean Harthorn were the lucky anglers to land a "hooter" today. Dean set the standard of size to this point. Dean probably runs about five feet tall (I mean no disrespect. Dean is one of the nicest dudes around) but the wahoo he caught today dwarfs him. Wait until you guys see the photos on the website when we get in. It's a great picture and Dean was pumped. Good things happen to good people.

Our day also saw lots of releasing yellowfin tuna, tagging a couple of nice yellowtail, and Glenn Briscoe landed a true bull dorado in the thirty plus pound category. G-Man, you're truly the man, G. After landing Glenn's fish, we made the decision to make a run to the inside to see if we can't locate some wahoo elsewhere. We'll check back with you tomorrow.

Oh yeah! Before I forget, Chef Schooler and Jamie are my heroes. For dinner, they prepared a perfectly cooked tri-tip (my favorite), pepper-roasted potatoes, and corn on the cob. On any normal night, I'd be pumped but then they finished it off with a warm brownie, vanilla ice cream, caramel syrup, and pralines. Now I'm super pumped. Between my bronze and my level of pump, I look like a plump Arnold Schwarzenegger. Life is good. See ya.

Mother Nature was kind to us today as we landed 164 yellowfin and 1 bluefin off of a 5 hr drift. Same tackle, a 20 lb bait rod and a 30 or 40 lb bait rod. Size 4 and 2 hooks.

Iven moving on up! We had a great a day of fishing today. Our fishing started today at noon and we had non stop action all day long. We landed some nice Yellowfin tuna between 40-80 lbs. However with great tuna action came great shark action. Our resilient passengers were hooking these tuna very well, but the lurking Great White Sharks were hot on their tails. Eating a large majority of our nicer tuna hooked. Pictured here is Ivan with his prized tuna that he was able to hustle in through the sharks! Very different than last years fish ( other fish pictured). Great improvement!

Ryan Bostian checked in to tell us what the San Diego is doing. "The kids are back in school and if you have been waiting for an opportunity to get on the boat, with a light load, this is definitely the time for you. The Coronado Island have had very good Yellowtail signs. It has been inconsistent. We see them one day, we don't see them the next. The bite one day, they don't bite the next.

"Rockfish make up most of the counts, they last couple of days. But we always keep our eye out for Yellowtail. I don't think this season is over by any means. The water is still very warm. There is plenty of 70 degree water around. Reports have Yellowfin tuna moving up the line and there are plenty of Bluefin around. The problem with the Bluefin is finding fish that want to bite. It is just like the Dorado. There are plenty of Dorado, they just are hesitant to bite.

"It seems like the ocean is in a transition. I expect to see some good counts in a week or so. Our reservations are very light. If you've been waiting to get on the boat, with 40 or 50 of your closest friends; this is definitely the time to come on down. Make your reservations at 619-224-3383. The boat is still running everyday and the weather has been outstanding.

Good evening everyone and thanks for checking in. So after a couple of days if traveling, rigging and getting done with all of the final touches on the gear, we finally arrived at the fishing grounds. The group was definitely eager to get some lines in the water. Our primary target was wahoo to get things started. The area we first started trolling has been notoriously productive over the past few weeks, so we thought that was a great starting point. Not long after we got the trollers back behind the boat, we did get a jig strike. We put a few on the boat that strike, but after that, they didn't really want to get on us so we decided to continue on to other spots. A number of the other areas we looked at seemed to carry the same trend, just not having conditions conducive to catching a wahoo or yellowfin tuna. A major factor in having current, you must have current to catch fish. The beauty of fishing this area though, is having a large number of spots to look at throughout the day. We continued down the line looking, trolling and stopping, but it seemed to be just a little bit of an off day. Bluefin fishing is good this morning. We have 10 Bluefin on board right now in the 50-80 pound range and have several hanging. We have 21 anglers on board and are off to a good start.
