Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-06-2016 Hello everyone our morning started off with something different around the boat as we started our day of fishing for the bluefin tuna. What was it? Squid!! And yes we scooped up some to use for bait. sure enough we put it to good use with our first bluefin tuna of the morning being hooded on it. With live squid and sardines we did well today. Like Art Gutierrez landing a bluefin tuna over 90 pounds after a long and hard battle. most of the fish were 60-90 pounds. And yes we did have several heartbreaks which is part of the game with fish of this size. But we did land our fair share today. Great fishing all around. Good times were had by all on the Prevost private charter. Light line live bait rigs and small colt snipers connected with 57 yellowfin tuna and 2 bluefin tuna.

We are underway in gorgeous weather. Our bait we picked up at the receiver is perfect 6-8 " sardines. We have eight anglers on board. George, Craig, Al, Bobby, Scott, Sheridan, Tom, and Roger. Our crew is Captains tommy, Drew and Kevin. Our deck crew is Mike, Dave and Perry, and our chef is Javier. All the boys are napping right now after a delicious chicken breast with plum sauce for lunch. We will be traveling for at least two days before we start fishing, so don't expect anything but naps, rigging and food reports for the next few days. Hope you all had a great Christmas!

We departed today on the Davis Construction annual private charter. This year there are six lucky individuals who were invited to go, with Jim and Gunnar being the new guys. We loaded up at the bait receivers with some excellent bait, and headed down south in beautiful, flat calm weather. Everyone is excited at the prospects that lie ahead. We dined on a great barbecued pork tenderloin for lunch and just enjoyed the company and the smooth ride.

Friday April 19

Great day of fishing today. One over 200 lbs. and a couple real close.

We had 20 tuna and 12 wahoo. Weather has backed off and is gorgeous.

We are looking forward to the last couple days of fishing.

We scratched away at some excellent grade yellowtail today. Really nice quality. Most over 30 lbs. The weather is flat calm, gorgeous. We hope the volume of fish we are seeing will bite better tomorrow. Susan said we still have some open spots on the upcoming five days if you can get away give her a call. Thanks, Tommy and crew

Captain Ryan Bostian called up early this morning with an update from "The San Diego" out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. We got in really late last night so we were unable to call in a report. However, we had very good Bluefin Tuna fishing for tuna in the 20 to 40 pound class. Our group of 30 anglers ended up with 54 Bluefin Tuna. We did see some bigger fish jumping around but we did not hook any. The 20 pound bait rod was the ticket with a 1o or 2o circle hooks.
