sebastian inlet district Fishing Report 2024

From 8:00 am till 4:00 pm we were either stopped on bluefin or driving towards jumping bluefin. When we pumped out the RSW we had 17 bluefin and 2 yellowtail. Flylined sardines on 25-40 lb with a size 2-2/0 bait hook was the top producer.

Hello Everyone, Today was a great day on the tuna grounds. We had an un-real sun downer bite on Bluefin Tuna in the 40 lb range. Complete chaos, an absolute ripper on fly lined sardine, until the sun went down. Once darkness settled in, it turned into a Flat fall ripper. Landing the Tuna on the jigs was was much nicer on the heavy gear. In addition to the Bluefin we landed 2 50 lb Yellowfin Tuna. Great grade fish. Excellent day on an excellent charter. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-30-2016 All I got to say is what difference a day makes. Holy cow what a great day fishing yellowfin tuna! We had a blast as you can see by the pictures they were boiling in the corner and it was deep blue beautiful water and everybody was happy! Fun fun day great fishing and beautiful weather and now we are off to another adventure for tomorrow! Thanks for tuning in the Polaris supreme crew.

Capt Ryan checked in from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing to give us a report from todays 3/4 day trip, we fished the Corondo Islands today for 59 Yellowtail. Fishing seems like it has been good for the last year, we have a shot everyday fro some good fishing. We do have some down days as yesterday we only got 26 Yellowtail, we are finding plenty of schools with fish ranging from 10 to 30 lbs. When you come down make sure and bring a flyline rig, a yoyo rig and a surface iron setup. We have had some recent success recently with some days of getting up to 80+ Yellowtail. The fish are starting to rebound, so come on down and get in on the action. We depart everyday at 5:30 am, come on down and see us.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-20-2016Good afternoon everyone. We departed today on the Joe Beck/Bob Vance Annual 5 Day Charter. Not long after the morning offload, the boat was fueled up, groceries loaded we were headed out to the tuna grounds that have recently popped up. There isn't much time to waste when there can be quite a bit of time to fish on the departure day of a 5 day trip. We loaded up on a fairly descent variety of sardine, got all of our seminars out of the way and went right into rigging up. We arrived at the area we wanted to look at not too long after lunch and stumbled on few schools right away. Nothing wanted to bite in any volume right off the bat, but Tom Christiansen got down with his jig and managed to hook up on something nice. After about a good half hour on the bow, he was able to land about a 110 lb. beautiful bluefin tuna. Not bad at all for his effort on 40 lb.test. Great way to start the trip. We spent the remainder of the day trolling around yummy flyers trying to locate a nice school to shut down on, but it looked like the fish went down for the afternoon. We'll camp out here tonight, enjoy a nice prime rib dinner and get back at it first thing in the morning. Well check back in with you tomorrow.Tight lines,Team Supreme

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 19 anglers catch 13 Bluefin Tuna. The best way to get a bite was finesse live bait rigs (20 lb floor #2 hook) or an 80-100 gram flat fall. I would bring both your heavy outfits and large flat falls for the bigger Bluefin Tuna.

Fishing today was sporadic. It had it's moments, but overall we just scratched with a variety of Albacore, Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail and Dorado. It was a pretty even mix of everything. Our weather continues to be excellent. So we will try again tomorrow and hope for more of the same, but a little bit better.

It's time for dinner. Chicken Cordon Blu is on the menu for tonight.
