We departed today on the Dan Heil Memorial charter with his son Ron Heil as charter head. It's pretty cool to see some of the old faces. Dan's charter has been with me for over 25 years. We were in a panic rush to get out and get to the local fishing grounds before dark. We got about three good hours of fishing and snagged a handful of yellowfin, a bluefin and a beautiful opah. Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from “The San Diego” out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay! Today we had 34 passengers catch 7 Bluefin Tuna (20 to 55 pounds) and 12 Yellowtail. We had several heartbreaks on 75 to 120 pounders. Please bring a 25 to 30 pound rod as well as a 50 pound rod. Good morning everyone, Today started out slow. A slight wind and a racing current made it it difficult to fish in the early morning. However by around seven o clock a switch turned on and the yellows wanted to chew. The sea came alive with eager mossbacks. Eating everything but really keying in on the surface action. The fly line sardine and surface iron really were the super stars today. We were really able to pick off these yellowtail as they made their rounds crashing around the boat. We stayed busy all morning until lunch time when we had to pull it and head north. What a great half day of fishing! Really makes you appreciate days like today when it all comes together and everyone is able to catch fish. Will report again tomorrow, Team supreme

Hello friends. Our day didn't set the world on fire by any means but it was an interesting day of tuna fishing out here. Our weather was calm throughout the day with only a mild groundswell and although the stops were few and far between, we did manage one of the better scores for the area. In the morning, we had some jig strikes to wake us up, shortly after, we had a whack on some Bluefin, and then our day was pieced together by a few Albacore stops. We had a few jig strikes that turned into us hooking a couple of bait fish each stop but like I said, they were hard to come by. We just didn't see a large volume of fish and we consider ourselves very fortunate and are thankful for our day. We finished the day with 11 gorgeous, fatso Albacore in the 28-38 lb. class and 13 Bluefin in the 15 lb. range.

Who knows, maybe this Albacore area will develop into something later in the season. Be sure to check the website for some more of these 1.5-day trips and 2 -day trips we've put on the schedule. There's still a lot of fish in a couple different areas and they show no sign of bailing just yet and with the success of these past short trips, we've put a few more on the schedule to target Albacore, Bluefin, and Yellowfin tuna along with some Yellowtail and Dorado. Hi friends. We departed the docks this evening at 1800 hours for a 1.5 day trip, loaded up on some beautiful Sardines, and began motoring out to our fishing destination for tomorrow. It's a new area of fish that includes Bluefin tuna that range from the school grade of a 15 lb. average, all the way up to fish in the 40-60 lb. range, the area also includes a few Albacore in the 25 lb. category, and some school-sized Yellowfin tuna as well. Fishing two days ago was decent enough to garner our attention and gathering reports from the boats who were in the area today was that there is no shortage of fish out there, they just weren't in the biting mood today. Let's hope that tomorrow the fish get frisky and we'll see if we can't get lucky and find ourselves a school of willing biters. We felt that motoring out this way would give us the best chance of fish along with having more fishing time to spend out here. We'll be there first thing in the morning to see what's up and cross your fingers that we get something located.

So that is all. Our weather is a little choppy but we'll take it. The forecast calls for decent weather and we're praying that the weatherman is correct. Bottom line, this report pretty much sums up fishing in a nut-shell. We hope that we find some fish, we hope that we catch some fish, and we hope that the weather is nice.     Arrive depart day today.  We did the whole routine, I hung out with my baby for an hour and it was time to set sail again.  We left on another 5 day with my buddy Archie and his gang and a few other regulars.  We did well at the bait receivers.  We loaded up on small sardine and left the bay and headed out to do some fishing in the afternoon.  We didn't do much.  A couple of yellowfin is all we caught.  We did see a couple of big schools of 50-80 pound tuna that didn't care we were there at all.  No bites.  We're eating prime rib and heading down in nice weather.  We're going to try for some yellows on the coast in the morning and then head offshore for the afternoon hunting yellowfin.

Today we had about 7-10 wahoo and several tuna. Four nice ones around 170 lbs., and some smaller ones (many released) 50-60 lbs. We lost 4 nice ones, 2 thought to be over 200 lbs. The guys are pretty tired putting in 36 hours of fishing time. Most only had 3-4 hours of sleep.

Yesterday we had good fishing on wahoo in the morning and excellent fishing on tuna in the afternoon. The average weight on the tuna ranged from 45-70 lbs. Our weather is still good. Chef Tommy put out some great meals again. Lunch yesterday was yellowtail served over fresh spinach, surrounded by black beans with a spicy avocado cilantro sauce. And dinner was cornish game hens topped with a spicy apricot sauce on wild rice with grilled asparagus on the side. Fishing this morning has started off again with wahoo biting and this afternoon we will fish the tuna again. We still have some open spots on *Sept. 8th* an 8 day trip if you want to come get some of these wahoo. Give Susan a call 619-390-7890.

Mike Pritchard called in this morning with this report for the Tribute. "We've had a very nice start here this moring. A couple of kelps have been absolutely fantastic. Great Yellowtail fishing to go along with some Yellowfin and Dorado. We caught 160 Yellowtail out of 2 drifts. A lot of the fish were caught on surface irons, swimbait and even poppers.
