richmond times dispatch Fishing Report 2024

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA. Today we had 36 anglers catch 61 Yellowtail and 69 Barracuda. We had excellent action today.

We have an exciting opportunity coming up. We have a two day open party trip on Sept. 5th and 6th. The cost is 565.00 and includes food and permits. Trip will depart at 9pm on the 4th. Contact Fisherman's Landing for more info or to sign up. 619 221 8500.

Good fishing in the morning with 70 to 100 pound fish. Most again were released. Late in the day we got lucky with two more big fish. Young Gunnar got another one over 200, and Charlie got one right at 200. Just a great trip with George Davis and his group, and an awesome crew. We will be into the Cape tomorrow to drop off the passengers to fly home and be at Fisherman's Landing on Wednesday.

Hello everyone, Today was spent traveling up. A great ride to end a great trip filled with a variety of fish. We would like to thank Billy Stephens for putting together such a great charter! We had an excellent day of yellowtail fishing today. Jumbo yellows up to 46 pounds on our scale. Great weather the whole time. Hot and sunny and flat with a light breeze. Now we have to head north to get home. We're going to mess around with bottom fish for a couple hours in the morning then shoot offshore and try to find our lucky kelp.

Today our 30 anglers were treated to a 6 hour drift which resulted in 33 bluefin tuna from 60 to 100 pounds and 1 twenty pound yellowfin. We managed to keep 1-8 fish hooked at all times. Our bites were coming on 40&50 lb flyline sardines and 130-160 gram Shimano Flatfalls as well as 100 gram Shimano Colt snipers. TIP FROM THE CREW: In order to keep the deck clean and safe. We rinse with a saltwater hose constantly. Wearing rubber boots or waterproof shoes is recommended.

The Tribute finished yesterday with 57 Yellowfin Tuna and 28 Bluefin Tuna for our 20 Angler’s on board. It was ridiculously nice weather!

27 yellowtail 130 assorted rockfish 5 calico bass. For a brief period this morning the yellowtail reacted a bit better than the last couple of days. Hoping it’s a sign of things to come.
