may 9th was partly cloudy, and fishing was decent. caught some nice panfish with a light tackle setup. had a good time with my buddies and even had a lil picnic on the lake, made the trip worth it for sure. can’t wait to go back!
fished on may 8th when it was sunny but cold. caught a couple perch, which were nice for a change. really had to work for them. used a small ice jig with a waxworm, they seemed to like it. wasn’t a big haul but i enjoyed the peaceful day!
may 7th was a bit chilly and cloudy, hit the lake but fish just weren’t biting much. only got a couple little ones. i switched from my usual crankbait to a jig and that seemed to help a bit. guess some days are just like that!
back at pelican on the 6th, weather was nice but rain threatened. caught a few smallmouth on a drop shot rig, did better than expected! little windy tho, coulda done without that.
got lucky on may 5th, it was sunny and warm! hit the water early and caught some nice bass, biggest was over 5lbs. used a brown buzzbait, they were hungry today! loved every minute of it.
