Polaris Supreme Report 07-14 -2016 #2 Well our yellowtail bite we had going on this morning never ended. It lasted almost 12 hours. Constant action all day long! Surface iron fish was insane! Everything we threw at them pretty much got bit. What a day and what an amazing grade these fish where! Definitely the best yellowtail fishing we have had this year! The plan for tomorrow is to use this beautiful weather to our advantage to hopefully load up on some Tuna! On another note, we have open spots on all the trips listed below:a four-day August 2a five day August 6a five day August 11a three day August 25 One last thing guys. We take a lot of pictures during the duration of every trip and some of them don't make it into these reports. Those pictures that were not posted and the ones that were posted in the report will be on our website the day that trip gets back in. To find them go to www.polarissupreme.com and they will be under the subcategory of pictures. Each trip has its own folder of pictures. Wow what a first week of fishing.

There is a huge spectrum of fish to catch out there now. Some days it's 60-80 lb Bluefin, then 100-200 lb Bluefin , the next it's 12-20 lb Yellowtail and Dorado on kelp patties, then 20-40 lb Bluefin and Yellowfin tuna the next! The local waters are full of life right now. We can't wait to get back out there this Sunday for our open 1.5 day trip!

Could be kelp patty Yellows, could be cow Bluefin tuna!

We can't wait to find out!

Hope to see you Sunday,

Team Supreme

Ryan Bostian called in with this report, "I just wanted everybody to know that we are offering our 5:30 to 5:00 Coronado Island fishing trips every single day. The cost of this trip is exactly the same as the last 3 years $95.00, that does include your mexican permit. Come on down and see us and if you want to make a reservation call us at 619-224-3383.

At this moment we are fishing for rockcod, however we are keeping our eyes open for game fish. Any day now Yellowtail will show up down there. The water is improving by the day, as soon as we see Yellowtail you will be the first to know. As of know bring your heavy sinkers, 12 to 16 oz. of weight, 65 or 80 lb. spectra, 2 or 3 hooks above your sinker. Excellent rockcod fishing right now at 300' of water. Like I mentionede earlier we are keeping our eyes open for game fish as soon as we see them we will let you know.

Once again this is Ryan from the San Diego letting you know that we are offering our 5:30 to 5:00 Coronado Island trips everyday at Seaforth Sportfishing. To make those reservations call 619-224-3383."

~~July 26
Today was rough.I'm not talking about the fishing.  I'm talking about the weather.  We were expecting this though.  We knew it would be this way so we had plans all along to keep it a down swell day.  We started west and moved east jigging up small tuna.  We expected this as well.  We must of caught 50 tuna this morning but only 10 of them wound up with tags stapled to there gills.  All the rest went back into the ocean to fight another day.  Right before lunch we hit a nice kelp and caught 20 nice yellows.  We thought we were going to string together a few kelps after that but that was the last thing we saw all day long other than a few jig strikes on throw back tunas.  So we're headed to the Island now and we'll be there before daylight.  Wish us luck.

Good news.  We're getting our Gunny back August 8th.  I miss that well done steak eating man.  If you're reading this Guns, bring another blanket.  I've been using your's aqnd it's been working great.  I've been putting it on top of my blanket though so if you want it back it shouldn't have my cooties on it.
