Hey guys, the yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands have dropped a bit the past couple of days. There are a couple reasons for the slower fishing. First reason is the south wind we have had for the last two days. This south wind has dropped the water temp a few degrees therefore making the yellows a little less active. The second reason is the seal ions have stepped up there game. In the last three days we have lost at least 40 yellowtail to the lions. Good news is , the south wind is predicted to end by the end of today. Starting Tuesday we should start to see the water begin warming again. With the warming water the yellowtail should get more active making them easier to hook. With the seal ions acting as a tax collector it just comes down to the fact that we need to hook more fish. When we are hooking more fish both the seal ions and us can get our share. The best way to hook these yellowtail has still been a flylined sardine on 25 lb. test. The Coronado Island yellowtail have not gone anywhere , they are still there. We just need the water to warm a tiny bit so we can start catching them again. Look for better counts in the next few days. Today's photo is of a father and son with 3 yellowtail caught on Saturday. Quality family time in the outdoors is what it is all about ! Hello everyone, Last night was awesome for Yellowfin tuna, the guys stayed up most of the night into the early hours of the morning catching these good grade tuna. When daylight came we did not have the same luck on the tuna. However we did manage to land some Wahoo. Hopefully tonight we have a similar experience with the tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Finding that better grade. Today we spent the day Tuna fishing. At times it was frustrating with the large numbers of small fish. However there were some who stuck with it and were able to pull some 40 lb plus Yellowfin from the mix. We will spend tomorrow looking for another new species. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

We had some good fishing on the yellows today around 12-18 pounds with some at 25 lbs. We released 100's of smaller ones.

There was plenty of action. The guys are having a great time. Our weather is ok not great, not bad. There is a little bit better sign of albacore. They are improving from what it has been recently. We will fish the yellowtail again tomorrow and save the last couple of days for tuna fishing. For dinner we had turkey breast with sausage bread stuffing and a sage wine sauce. So goodnight and wish us good luck for tomorrow!

Trip summary so far...

Still having issues with the data link on the sat phone and computer so it's been tough to try to get the reports out. However the fishing is the complete opposite. So far the trip is going perfectly as planned for the fishing. Our first morning we had excellent fishing on good quality yellowtail. From there we went outside and had great fishing on the Dorado and got our limits. The next day we had epic tuna fishing from 22-80 lbs. Our weather has been excellent the whole time. And our food has been no less than great, from the best cheeseburger in the world to the most tender flavorful fillet mignon. We will be hunting the wahoo tomorrow and hope our luck will continue.

The office has one cancellation on the 8-day trip leaving October 5th. And if you want a 10-day, Larry Brown still has open spots on his Oct 25th trip. Come out and join me and Tommy if you can.
