northeast florida surf Fishing Report 2025

Good evening everyone, Today we started off the day in kelp land. Finding many nice kelps along a nice water color break. One in particular held a slew of different game fish. Dorado, Wahoo, Yellowtail, and Tuna. Most of them where on the small side, but it was still great fun catching such a variety of fish. Later on we were able to slide inside and finish off the day with some coastal Yellowtail. It was great ending the day with a nice hit on the Yellowtail. Biting the iron very well, adding to the fall 10 day variety pack. We are pointed north at the moment trying to cover some ground to make it in on time Wednesday morning. Found what we were looking for, away from any other boats. Ended up with 4 Bluefin, #135 and the others all at #70 or so. Heck of a day!

Yesterday we had a travel day. It was a little bumpy and choppy coming up the line. The passengers just relaxed and enjoyed a fresh tuna sandwich and Ceasar salad for lunch and for dinner we were treated to crab stuffed chicken on rice with a black bean sauce and grilled squash on the side. Really good. This morning we are still traveling and it is still bumpy. It looks like it is nicer up above and we should have a nice afternoon and a few hours of fishing before we have to head in. We will be a the dock at 6:00 am Wednesday morning.
We have a last minute cancellation on our trip that departs tomorrow. It is Don Fischbeck's annual 5 day charter. Give Susan or Don a call if you can get away and come fish.

10 bluefin tuna 2 yellowfin tuna. We are seeing fish from 10 lbs to over 200 pounds. A 25 lb bait rod, a 40 lb bait rod and a 50,60 or 80 lb rod is recommended. If you do not own the proper tackle. Seaforth is renting 50 lb rods with a 2 speed reel. These rental rods have already conquered a lot of our fish.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in today with an update from the San Diego. Today we had 50 passemgers catch 16 bluefin tuna (including a 116, 108 and a 65 pounder) and 10 yellowtail. Plenty of opportunity on the grounds today. Don't miss out on what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

We woke up to jock strap and sun visor weather this morning. Did some rigging and had roast beef in a portabella mushroom sauce for lunch. We had good success acquiring yellowtail and tuna for hors d'oeuvres and proceeded to eat them in the form of sushi and sashimi. Dinner is coming up in a few minutes, halibut in a lemon butter caper sauce. We are going to consolidate our sardines and swing by the bait grounds to pick up a tank of greenies. We will see you tomorrow on the tuna grounds.

Today was a slow day out here for us. We never did find a school. We did a little bit of scratching in the morning, the afternoon was non existent and then we scratched some for about an hour into dark. Only a couple schools seen out here today. It was a slow day for most. We're going to stick it out here for the morning and if we don't see anything in the first couple of hours we're going to work up towards home and look along the way. We're still a long way from home. There's plenty of fishy ground above here too. The weather was OK today. I wouldn't sign up for it. A little breezy and choppy but plenty fishable. Looks like we can expect it better tomorrow and a very nice ride up. Hope they're right.
