Wow what a crazy sky this evening here along the Baja coast! Yesterday we departed on our annual AHI 7 day charter. The AHI charter has been around for 23 years and going strong! Today the charter spent the day rigging up, relaxing, and unwinding to a great selection of music, complete with a special outfitted sound system here aboard Polaris Supreme for this charter. It is a truly enjoyable atmosphere here, and the weather could not be better to go with it. We are all rigged up and ready for our first day of wahoo fishing tomorrow morning. Wish us luck! POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-23-2020 We departed today on Joe Becks annual 8 day trip.The weather is great and our bait stinks. lots of spinners. hopefully enough will cure out to make the trip. Not much to report the usual rigging eating and napping. The picture is of our new storage box an rod holders we built in the bow to replace the old bait tank. We will be traveling all day tomorrow. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Our partnership with the best live bait boats in the world allowed us to catch 126 yellowfin from 15-25 lbs and 13 bluefin from 30-50 lbs. a 20 lb rod with a #2 hook, a 30 lb rod with a #1 or #2 hook and a 40 lb rod with a #1 hook is all you need. Please be sure to have at least 150 feet of mono on top of your braid. Shock absorption is very important when fighting a fish on a small hook. Fish the heaviest line the fish are willing to bite.

At this moment we are fishing for rockcod, however we are keeping our eyes open for game fish. Any day now Yellowtail will show up down there. The water is improving by the day, as soon as we see Yellowtail you will be the first to know. As of know bring your heavy sinkers, 12 to 16 oz. of weight, 65 or 80 lb. spectra, 2 or 3 hooks above your sinker. Excellent rockcod fishing right now at 300' of water. Like I mentionede earlier we are keeping our eyes open for game fish as soon as we see them we will let you know.

Rosemont Media private charter brought out 21 passengers and they “made them pay”. They landed limits of yellowfin before noon. We recommend having a rod to fish 30-50lb test when the tuna are eating everything in the water.

Hello everyone, Sorry for the delayed report, the weather was so rough that I had trouble keeping the keyboard at my fingertips! Now the weather has smoothed out temporally. Our final day of fishing was a nice day of mixed fish. With Wahoo, Yellowtail, and Yellowfin Tuna. It was a nice surprise catching these yellowtail and yellowfin tuna pushing 40 lbs! A nice grade of fish we have not seen here in some time. We are headed up now and will be in tomorrow morning bright and early. Team Supreme

July 23
  Today was an enjoyable day out here in the old west.  We didn't catch much fish, but we still had a good time.  I take that back, we didn't keep much fish.  We started this morning in a little zone, and it was full speed jiggin um up.  Stop and go, stop and go, stop and go.  Mostly small yellowfin unfortunately..  There was a sprinkling of good ones in the mix along with some nice yellowtaiil, and it sort of felt like any minute we'd find that school of good ones, but it also kind of felt like we were in the wrong zone at the same time.  Funny how that works.

  By mid morning we were out of there.  We made a move up to the next break.  The fishing wasn't very good for us up there, but the weather all day was excellent, and when you have a boat full of friends aboard, you can't miss.  We did see some cool wild life.  There was a pod of, must of been 10 not sure what kind of whales that swam across the bow.  Nobody else saw, but I saw all of them at once breeching when they were about a mile or so off.  We also ran across a couple pods of Orcas too.  With these we cruised for a while along side of them and checked out the Shamus of the wild.  It was some good viewing let me tell you.

  About an hour before dark, only 7 miles away, a boat got on a school of the better grade tuna and caught a bunch.  Unfortunately for us, we didn't connect before dark more than a half dozen of these but we know where to be tomorrow and we're confident we'll get a bunch.
          

The Bluefin started biting before sunrise and like a broken record, more than their share got away, we went 10 for about 25 on the 45-55 pound Bluefin, the hot ticket being the flatfall. After sunrise, the plump Yellowfin bit for several hours, being caught primarily on flylined 20 pound.
