"Today we went offshore you know we have some political stuff going on at the Coronado Islands," said Ryan Bostian captain of the San Diego. "So we are fishing offshore for the time being. It looks like our timing was pretty darn good. Today we went out there and caught 15 Bluefin tuna and 13 Yellowtail. It's nice to be able to go out there on a 5:30 to 5:00 trip and catch exotics like Bluefin tuna. We had one really good shot at them. They were boiling on the corner.

"Most of our group today were beginner fishermen. If you are looking to join us for some offshore fishing our next Open Party trip is next Thursday. This Thursday we will be fishing Open Party, we will be on out offshore schedule. That means a 5:30 to 7:00 trip. The ticket price is $115 which includes your Mexican fishing license. We saw a good sign of Bluefin tuna. It seemed like every kelp paddy had a few Yellowtail on it, but we're mainly fishing the Bluefin out there. Some schools bite, some do not, but there are certainly plenty of them out there. If you'd like to join us please make reservations at 619-224-3383."

The Apollo scored limits of nice grade Rockfish today at San Miguel Island. The Apollo will be running OPEN PARTY Overnight trips every Saturday night. Give them a call and fish the Outter Channel Islands fishing for White Seabass in the morning and Rockfish in the afternoon.

Happy Easter! I have decided to put some ultra limited load open party trips together for fishing the northern Channel Islands this weekend. I have set up two trips on Saturday and Sunday the 10th and 11th of April. I anticipate trying to find sea bass in the morning and falling back on rock fish and ling cod for the rest of the day. These trips will be limited to only 20 people max!! This just seems to me to be such a great opportunity to get out to the islands on such a nice boat without having to deal with a crowd. The trips will depart from Sea Landing in Santa Barbara at 9pm Friday and Saturday night. The cost will be $175 per person. Please come join me and the crew aboard the Apollo next weekend. Capt Ryan called in from the San Diego, they wanted everyone to know the are still fishing offshore. Today we ended the day with 105 Yellowfin Tuna and a handful of Dorado, a few Yellowtail. The fishing is still great down here, we need a few more to make tomorrows trip a go, our loads are light and the weather and the water is perfect. We depart everyday at 5:30am and return around 5pm, to book a spot give the landing a call at 619-224-3383 and get in on this action. Come on down and see us at Seaforth landing.

 Today was mostly a travel day for us as was planned. We did stop late after 4:00 in the evening for some yellowtail. It took a bit of looking around but we eventually found some action. It wasn't exactly what we were looking for but it kept us busy for a while. 8-15 pound yellowtail is what we caught. We released most of what we caught but we tagged some of the 14 pounders we were getting. The fish bit until we left it to try and find a better grade. We never did but we didn't have much time left to look. The weather was definitely on the choppy/windy side of things today but it didn't bother us because we were rolling down with it so we didn't notice. We'll make a move tonight and fish first thing tomorrow targeting D, all of the above. See you then.
 

Today we went out with 16 anglers. Fish count for the day was 1 yellowtail 50 red rockcod 80 rockfish and 1 lingcod.

Fishing and the weather is still excellent! However we have had our fill of those albacore so we are heading south for some dorado and yellowtail. Dinner tonight was incredible. Pork with some amazing yummy sauce. Susan said we still have a couple of opening on our next two trips. Take some time off and come out and get into some of this action

Today we went out with 13 anglers and caught 33 yellowtail and 12 rockfish. The best way to catch a yellowtail today was on a yo-yo lure. These fish are very big and mean so make sure you have fresh 40 or 50 lb. monofilament. We did manage to catch a couple of yellowtail on the surface iron but the yo-yo was by far the most consistent. The yellowtail were in the 18-30 lb. class.
